Experience gain seems too low

I have read the carpentry for beginners book, it shows me a 3.0 xp multiplier, but no matter what is do, i get only 1 xp per action. lvl 1 was ok that way, but 150 actions for lvl 2 and so on is a little bit hard. dont know if it should be this low, but i hoped to get at leat 3 xp or so for every action. dont have enough trees or tools to level my skill that way

You're not supposed to get good at a skill you don't choose to start with. That said, I haven't tried leveling skills I don't start with so maybe there is room for balance.
