Carzen
Hello people! I bought Project Zomboid and I'm enjoying a lot!Got myself a good base and I have 1 month and 28 days - still alive - with my second character.Everything was going fine, BUT...I accidentally fell from the second story while building a floor, and got left shin fractured. I instantly splinted it, and I'm still with it (maybe 6 days) but I'm still not cured D:I had the "pain" moodle all those days, but today-in-game the moodle was gone, and I thought I was finally cured... But when I removed the splint, I saw I still had the fractured shin, and the pain moodle came back again (instantly got away after I splinted one more time). TL;DR How long does it takes to cure a fractured limb? Will the "cure time" reset after you remove the splint? Thanks for the awesome game, Indie Stone! And sorry for my bad english, I'm portuguese
Skotie
I never kept an exact time but my foot was fractured two times. I believe the first took about a full week, maybe a day or two longer The second around five days (but I did have one skill point in first aid by then). Removing the splint and checking it didn't seem to reset the count, I used that as a method of checking to see if it was healed along with walk run speed, you'll notice you can move a tad faster each day that goes by. It might have healed sooner had I stayed off my feet but there is no take it easy option in the game. Unless your popping sleeping tablets you have to do something until you get tried enough to fall alseep. I mostly train nimble (walking around sneaking, particularly backwards) and sprint (running around the bottom level of my base or against a wall if I'm feeling lazy) in that downtime hanging around my base, keeps my character from getting bored and helps a lot around zombies and traveling. Carzen
Hey, thanks for the reply!Just as you posted that, my shin healed a lot (not completely). I was hanging around my base doing the things you said (nimble) AND a lot of carpentry work - as I have a load of trees around my base - then went to sleep. After I woke up, I noticed I could sprint and was moving a lot faster.I removed the splint in hope that I finally got cured, but in the health panel still says "fractured".Maybe I'm in the final stage of the healing process? That would explain my fast movements but still have the "fractured" status.

Sadeyx
It would be super handy if you didn't have to take off the split to know if the fracture is healed.
Carzen
You don't really need to take it off to know it's healed.Today I got the fracture full healed, and I learned some things I would like to share with you:0 aid skill takes about 1 week or a bit more to fully healIf you take the splint off, it won't reset the heal time (I thought it would, but it didn't at all)You don't need to take it off, you will notice you healed when you CAN SPRINT and is walking FASTEREven when you can sprint and walk faster, you will still have the "fractured" status, but it will affect only a bit of walking/sprinting speed (keep the splint up anyway until it fully heals. At this time you should take it off everyday just to check)Heal time apparently takes less time when you have more aid skillWell, that's pretty much everything I know Sorry if there's any grammar errors, I'm not native xD
