Split screen adding coop players

When I try to add in another player in split screen, the controller only has the options "cancel" and "take over player 1".  

 

i have enabled the controller, i use the controller after i am in game, and i still cant seem to make it work.  

I searched the forums for an answer, but the other split screen problems dont pertain to me.  

 

does anyone have an answer??

 

my xbox controller works with other games too so its not that.

What build are you playing?

I am playing build 29.4 on windows if that helps. 

 

i also saw a build 30, is there a code for any kind of beta program on steam? or is that build still unreleased?

 

EDIT: i did some research and saw that it looks like the split screen is re-added into build 30 but correct me if Im wrong

 

ANOTHER EDIT: i feel really dumb now, but i did even more research and found the beta code, secretsecretsecretsecret.  i will see if it works

That's correct. You'd have to download build 30 to access splitscreen.
