Hosting a new public server => 403 forbidden ?

Hi,

i ran into a 403 forbidden error when i tried to put my fresh installed PZ server in public mode.

here is a console output :

*** SERVER STARTED ****
server is listening on port 16261
connecting to public server list
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL: http://www.projectzomboid.com/server_browser/serverVar.php

From several tests i made, it seems my server ip is not welcome in here and i don't know why ?

Is an admin could check what's wrong with it ? IP is 62.210.177.164 hosted in france by "online.net" (illiad)

Thanks.

Ok, that entire IP address range was blacklisted, because it was used to attack our servers. Additionally, the hosting provider refused to take corrective action. As such, the range will remain blocked. I'm sorry, I can't open it up, since doing so would open us to the same attack again.

I can whitelist you explicitly, but I'll need some more evidence of your identity, and your ownership of that IP address.

Please can you configure your firewall (if any) and Apache, so that apache is listening on port 81, as well as port 80.

Additionally, if you control the domain ending 'rom.net', please add a TXT record with the value 'spiffo', alongside the google site verification and SPF records. Once you've done that, PM me and I'll check and confirm.

Ok, done and dns record spread.

A page on port 81 : http://62.210.177.164:81/

Spiffo Txt record : http://dig.whois.com.au/dig.php?dom=emurom.net&type=ALL&submit=Dig+Lookup

Thanks! Ok, you can drop the port and the TXT record now. I've added your IP to the whitelist. You should be able to get your server listed now. You'll need to restart the server, so it can resend the initial server-submission, if it fails once, it's designed to not try again till it's restarted.

Please note, standard warning (that I don't expect to need to act on), if we detect errant traffic coming from your IP, we'll block first and ask questions never. Other than that, game on! (clyde)

Hi kirrus,

i have the same problem with pz.r0x.fr ...

r0x.fr is a french community, well known from these users. We host many game servers, and we come now with a PZ server.

We have more than 100 players simultaneous on TeeWorld's, and 50 players on Minecraft. We have less players on our other game servers (indies too, we love indies :D !).

You can check my identity by searching my name and testing my mail (already verified by your forum). Our IP 62.210.177.102 is returned by our DNS pz.r0x.fr, but too by our first node (x1.r0x.fr) and our other games like sb.r0x.fr (starbound). You can dig them. We have many hosts cause we host many games ... But we have never ddosed ! Our dev website is here : http://x1.r0x.fr:90/ (same IP so).

For your last test, i've added a TXT on pz.r0x.fr.

On of our player as more than 200h on your game, he talked us about this and we are enjoying to host it.

Thanks a lot for your help :).

You will probably have better luck if you send a PM directly to Kirrus, rather than hoping he sees this thread. ;)
