  1. This is me at 23:00 at night - with a flashlight on. It may look like a block bear on a new moon, but you can see that tiny bit of bookshelf. The darkness needs to be toned down 9000% - it used to be fine before the whole weather. Now its like the sun blew up and light no longer exists.
  2. Playing on Build 40.32. My character has no perks affecting vision. Lighting mode is set to 'Normal' in sandbox settings. God Mode was enabled - tiredness etc was not a factor in these screenshots. I've noticed some real inconsistencies with lighting, particularly around the time of day, and whether or not post-processing has been enabled. The pictures really do speak for themselves, but here are a few points. Between about 11:30 pm and 4:30 am - Lights on cars seem to not work at all. Flashlights have a very blue tint / are almost invisible. Stre
  3. Good evening. Enough said. Thank you for any assistance you may have. -TURTLESHROOM
  4. Hi, I'm trying to build a mod. First try. My objective is to craft something like the "lamp on a pillar", but with a tree branch and some rags. I already have made a simple craftable torch made of wood and ripped sheets, with translations. This torch currently behaves like a "lit candle": it emits light if held in hand. That was the easy part, but this is not what I had in mind... Now, I'd like to improve a few things: Ability to place the torch on the ground (vertically and using a menu option, just like the wooden cross) Ability for s
  5. Hello all. I have made a lamp that can be crafted. This is a moveable type item that once crafted and in your inventory you will click the place button and choose where to put it. You will still have to have the normal electrician of 5 and electronic scrap and a battery to click on the placed object and make the battery connector, and then again to install battery. Considering that you might have some of these things in crates in the wilderness, or may not have picked up a lamp somewhere, this is useful to craft your own makeshift battery powered lamp for base lighti
  6. One of my biggest complaints is the lighting. Many buildings will have random rooms that have crazy amounts of light in them. Just last night, i was playing on V31.11 and I went into a bathroom (window less) and the lighting was perfect. I turned on the light and it completely flushed everything out. There have been times when i was walking down the road at night and I look over at a building and see perfectly into the room through the window like the light is on. This was months into a game. Or some times it's just part of a room. a piece of the wall that lit while everything else
  7. Maybe I'm alone in this, but the current ambient light is very, very dull and unchanging. I mean, the color of the light basically doesn't change at all during the day, I'm guessing also not with the seasons, and it looks very dull. It'd be nice if we got more color in it, with the color changing based on time of year and weather. Maybe it's that thunder bug or something? Was the lighting always so "flat"? It just looks permanently overcast. Also, cloud shadows would be nice.
