  1. I'm well aware of the lore thanks sfy. If you'd bother to check the post we were discussing things currently outside it. Would you like a minute to catch up? I'll wait for you.
  2. I think you over estimate my abilities as a player. If I didn't do that I'd be zed food inside two days. I play on Insanity level zombies with their skills set to maximum. (And I am honestly not that great at this style of game) I need all the help I can get.
  3. I was already aware of the lore being followed. If you look a few posts up you will notice my post about feeling the influence of TWD. The second post was written poorly, I meant to imply "They have (BLANK), why doesn't PZ?" And while its fine to stream ideas from outside sources, most certainly nothing wrong with it, its when it gets to a point people use the lore of what they suggested to attempt to prove itself which doesn't work well, and its annoying to me. Take my sarcastic humor however you want, but until I start insulting or offending for no reason, or ust a dick in general, I will carry on with my forced humor. And that's the good thing Silent. We know what lore they are following. They even use terms like "Proper Zombies" and I think that's the "George A Romero" style? (Correct me if I am wrong.). The Devs have stayed pretty consistent. But lets face it, a lot of us are here because we like computer games and the zombie genre. So we are going to reference from a pretty wide (and totally fictional) data base. Personally I not only like the the style of zombie they have made into the default - the whole "fast shambler" variety, but I love that I can tinker with them in sandbox mode. To suit my own tastes. And if they do actually go down the path of a "Walking Dead Weighted House Covering of Walkers" or a "World War Z Movie Leaning Tower of Zombies" (which I Really doubt they will. REALLY doubt.) then it'll be fine as long as those options are in the customization part of the sandbox. I personally wouldn't switch them on myself. Last thing I need is a twenty foot tall pillar of zeds collapsing the 10 foot wall I just built.
  4. Incorrect. There is grinding in every skill. If you have '3' in blunt and you want '4' then grab your nailed baseball bat and hit the streets. If you want to level sprinting... Well... Either the devs gives is treadmills to run for hours or we sprint around the current map 10x over. Oh.. and then there are my personal favorites. Sneaking endlessly around circling a zed horde to level up Sneaking, Lightfooted and Nimble. And when this gets tiring return home, grab a dozen rotten watermelons from the fridge and slice them with a kitchen knife to level up your Cooking. Hours of fun for the easily amused.Which I count myself among.
  5. Maybe that's because when it comes to zombies people can't actually reference real world events? And all they have to go on are depictions in film and television? Each with their own take on the reality of a zombie invasion? Or is there a point in history where a large group of people switched off their sense of self preservation and decided to play a 30 story game of human jenga? I'm not familiar with this phase in our history.

  7. Totally for this Idea. Totally. And they could always keep it in game for the player only. It doesn't have to be a gold medal for the world to see. Just a little memento of an adventure to look back on. My current playthrough is my best yet. I've managed to go for two weeks and personally murdered close to two thousand zombies. This might not seem like much to some people but when I started my average game lasted less than a day and I was lucky to bag ten. Simply put; I love this game. So having a little virtual tombstone accessed from the title screen would be awesome. "My Daddy Survived For 12 Weeks in Maldraugh - Murdered 4356 Zombies and All I Got Was This Lousy Tee Shirt".
  8. Like I said. It depends on how complicated the Devs want to make the game. Note that the category is is "Combat" and the skills are "Aim" and "Reload" etc. Nowhere is the word "Gun" mentioned. Other people have suggested the ability to throw knives and rocks. If all that was brought in would you suggest a separate "Aim" and "Reload" skill for bow type weapons? Which would start diluting the exchange of experience to skill points. What about throwing knives? Would they also need a separate "Aim" and "Reload" skill? Or be covered by "Blade"? And if they are then that's not very realistic is it? Your ability to throw a knife effectively has nothing to do with how well you stab something with it. The more skills you have the more specialized you need to be or the more time you need to spend grinding for xp. And don't we all love grinding for xp. Project Zomboid works because the skill set is simple. It fits neatly on one drop down window and covers all aspects the character needs to survive in game. If they do introduce bows, throwing knives, hell even a home made trebuchet, then having one skill to determine your chance of hitting your target keeps the game simple and fun.
  9. Ah.. In the real world my 45 lb draw recurve long bow will put a carbon fibre arrow with a solid steel tapered pile through a car door at about 30-40 meters. Ah.. what a misspent youth I had... As for the chances to hit. Why not factor in the skill of "Aim" already in the game? Keep it simple and assume a person who is a crack shot with a pistol could also be a crack shot with a bow once they achieve a familiarity with the weapon and have a bit of practice. It's a game after all, so the question is just how complicated do the Devs want to make it? And crossbows.. oh wow I hope they bring those in. All my fantasies about being Daryl from Walking Dead suddenly get a huge boost...
  10. I fully agree with the OP. I kinda just assumed I couldn't use my deck of cards because that feature hasn't been added yet, and that it would probably be in the future. Seems pretty logical. And I really like the image of my character sitting up in his bedroom late at night, shot gun on the lap, flashlight on the table, playing solitaire till dawn... with a deck of fifty one...
  11. "Long Term Food Storage - Ability to can vegetables and smoke meats to greatly increase viable long term storage of foods." I really hope the Devs go for this. As any episode of Doomsday Preppers will tell you, the ability to preserve food for long term storage is a must in long term crisis. And glass jars and even canning machines (which can be very basic and non electric driven) would surely be easy to find in a "Kentucky like" area? Once the power goes off and you have a full garden of vegetables you can't eat all at once and with winter coming you'll want the ability to lay in some provisions for the slow growing months surely? Properly canned or preserved meats, fruits and vegetables can last for years. Maybe the formula could be something like; Vegetable or Fruit or Meat + Cup of Sugar + Empty Jar or Empty Can + Cooking Skill 2 or greater = Jar of/Can of <Insert Food Here>. Get a cup of sugar by combining an empty mug with sugar. I could see myself inside my fort, cooking for 14 hours a day and not even looking for zeds to kill.. Maybe I am that easy to amuse...
