  1. They could be used with grills =\

I don't mean to be negative about your idea mate, just seems like there's an easier way to me. There's also little camp stoves that are popular with campers/hunters around here that could use the LP tanks and be portable. How does that sound?

Are the grills now useable with propane tanks now in build 30? Coz i havent tried it yet

  2. People occasionally have small LP/propane burners for camping, but just hooking up your stove to one... no, that doesn't work I'm afraid. You'd need special hookups even if it *could* work like that, and that's not something you can just smash together. A tiny gas leak in an oven turns into an exploded house. Also, I'm fairly confident most recent gas ovens require electricity for the igniter rather than have an always on pilot light. I know most ranges are that way. Unfortunately that's really just not how it works in reality. LP should be useable with grills, which should be able to cook things anyways. No need whatsoever to have a weird, quasi-realistic system to hook up ovens to them when you could just use a grill.

Also, electric ovens are very common in the US. Not sure exactly what percent (it's also very regional), but from my understanding natural gas is more common in the northern states and electric is more common in the southern states (also true for heating systems).

So now I would rather create a PZ Asia map for this thing to be realized?

What one do not know does not mean unrealistic. And what is uncommon in one's place doesn't mean it will not work in reality. There are just these people born in technology nowadays that they now lack the concept how it even began.

Given that it's a gas stove running on gas, and Propane Tank is Gas that is connected by a proper tube which is also the one used for your gas stoves used in US, it should run. The only difference is yours are connected to a larger network of natural gas which runs underground that you pay for a monthly bill.

Even a Fifth-Grader here knows how to attach a gas tank to a gas range using a qualified synthetic rubber gas tube and a meter gauge. And it has to be attached only once, not everytime you cook. Go see a gas stove and check for these.

And mind you guys, at least the pyromaniacs in the multiplayer will have second thoughts using those propane tanks for cooking instead of using them to burn players' bases.

  3. It's been a while since I played PZ, I think it was build 25 when I started. Now I tried the build 30.

Until now, I am bedazzled why the Kitchen Stoves need electricity to run, unless they are electric stoves or microwave ovens. I got the logic of the oven range that uses electricity, but it is mainly used for baking and roasting. We have cooking pot and frying pan, which we always use for cooking on the gas range, not the oven.

Gas stoves use gas which is connected to somewhere and literally does not need even a tiny bit of your house's electricity to function or ignite a flame. It's ignition uses some sort of thing also used in lighters.

In reality, if gas supply is cut off, surely it can be fitted with other sources like the Propane Tank as fuel that will only be slowly consumed while the stove is turned ON.

In other countries, they call them LPG tanks (LPG = Liquefied Petroleum Gas). Once your gas tank is all consumed, you can buy another and you'll just have to give them your empty gas tank. Then they'll refill it to be sold again. A full LPG tank can last for a month if you only cook twice a day.

I wish I could use a Propane Tank to the Gas Stove when electricity is cut off.

This saves a lot of trees  =)

I would like to make a mod out of this, unfortunately, I'm just beginning to learn a bit of programming. I tried learning LUA from RoboMat's tutorial but there are other things I have to know to make it work, like the source code i should use for functions and events for this kind of mod.

  4. I was watching I am Legend a couple of days ago (great film by the way) and it made me want to play PZ, so I did. And because I was in an I am Legend mood I went on sandbox, made zombies sprint and gave them incredible strength. Yeah I didn't last very long.

But then I thought, how cool and different would the game be if the zombies were exactly like the I am Legend zombies? In other words; if zombies only came out at night.

I love the idea personally, having your eyes constantly on the clock, and just hoping you can find somewhere safe to spend the night while the zombies try to hunt you down relentlessly until the sun comes up?

Obviously it'd be kept as a sandbox option, it goes completely against how the devs and most of us fans want the zombies to be like, I just thought it'd be an interesting option and a nice twist to the game.

Although implementing it would be hard I guess, with so many zombies about and not that many large buildings to house hordes when the sun comes out. Maybe they could just despawn and respawn in the exact same place they despawned when the sun came out. Although that wouldn't be the best thing to do immersion wise anything else would probably be too hard to implement without getting in the way of development.

    Thoughts? Solutions? Cheese?

hey i am legend is my favorite movie my friend.

yes it doesnt follow its book and it has different style of zombie infection.

at least its closer to reality.

ill make a mod following this movie. maybe after furniture barricade and npcs start working.

coz my ideas about it are endless my frend.

if i just know how to make a game.

ryt now ill just do modding

  5. Just as a random thought...what is the possibility of being able to both build basic furniture and carry/move/haul/drag other furniture from other houses such as cookers/fridges etc?

I know realistically it will be ringing the dinner bell of an over encumbered, tired and noisy buffet table.. but still...Im sure if i found that 'perfect' dining table..i would risk the undead for it

hauling objects will soon be implemented. wait for it  =)

  6. oh crap i made a 4x4 farm. i planted brocolli and some carrots and cabbages.

    and now disease is spreading.

the info wrote "sickly" what do i do?

does the rain really water my crops? coz after the rain ive been looking at infos and they're still dry or parched.

im farming at the woods cabin. why do zeds always find me? everyday they show up in great numbers too near my cabin.

ive been luring them away ever since with my shotgun. now im planning to build walls just in case.

    thanks RJ  =)

  7. Someone mentioned about not going out at night - I would disagree with this. The safest time to travel unnoticed is in the dark, as the zeds are less likely to spot you.

well actually, it work both ways. i cant see that much in the dark. flashlights or candle lights have not much illumination.

i dont want to be stepping on some crawlers.

  8. From house nope, we may add this tho.

But for the player-made stuff, you can dismantle them with a screwdriver :)

can i dismantle a player-made door or window or wall with a screwdriver in this game?

do deconstructions and building make noise? If so, is using a screwdriver instead of sledgehammer decrease the noise from deconstruction?

sorry, these are the last of my questions for now

  9. myvote=TRUE,

    may i know why? =)

Because too many times have I been looting downtown get seen by a horde so I run around a corner, see a few trash cans or dumpsters and get sad because I can't hide in them, so I try to open a window whoops too late, zombies see me again.

If I could have just hopped in the trashcan, they would have just kept on going and I would have climbed out trying to be quiet.

Just has more of a realistic feel to have to ability to do something like that.

    true! true! =)

  10. I was thinking, lots of zombie movies have their characters hid somewhere some time. Or even I, myself, if zombie apocalypse just happened, hiding will be my last option.

    Example scenario 1: (defensive)
If that house's alarm, gunshots or chopper sounded and its pitch black outside and you haven't barricaded the house, you might just want to hide somewhere you can fit into.

This is also true for multiplayer. Since the game implements some sort of fog of warthen hiding would be such a nice addition to tricks players can do. If you're in pursuit by a gang of aggressive players, you have other options other than fight back, run away, or run away and hide then run away again.

    Example scenario 2: (aggressive)
If multiplayer is implemented, this can be used not only for defensive hiding, but also as means for surprise attack.

    Mechanics:
    - you must find a large container where a human can fit into
    - make sure you emptied it (or maybe something that affects player's overall weight and the weight the container can still hold)
    - to bring out the hide context menu, you'll have to right click the eligible container then choose "hide"

    - you cannot eat, drink or sleep inside containers (it would be OP if this can be done)
    - once hidden there are no means to see whats outside the container (peeping by opening a container for a tiny bit, would seem to be OP as it would be so hard for other players to spot you)
    - but you can hear sounds of course. the nearer zeds or players are, the louder the sound you could hear.

    - there could be other things to consider especially during Multiplayer. These include: Hidden Players' Keen Hearing Trait or Hard of Hearing Trait, against Pursuing Players' Graceful Trait, walking, running or sneaking.
    - if you've been detected by a zed, it will move adjacent to your hiding place and start whacking your hiding spot. You will get highly reduced damage and be injured, but not a zombie bite injury. If implemented that containers can be destroyed, then it will be destroyed after a few hits; and you'll be left vulnerable for a while, like stunned for 2 realtime seconds or something. Thats when you're gonna get bit by zombies.

    - if you've been detected by another player, or NPC, he can attack you with his weapon but with highly reduced damage, and you'll also be injured, until the container got destroyed. You'll also be stunned for 2 realtime seconds.

    - you may choose to get out of your hiding spot by long pressing E, just like going out of the window. That way, you'll suffer no stun debuff. You can also start attacking as if performing a surprise attack.

    - however, if you get out of your hiding spot while being attacked or receiving damage, you'll still be stunned for 2 realtime seconds.

    My suggestion.

    sorry bout my English.

  11. I think this idea should be at least tried, because with different maps all the time it makes the experience different every time!         ((like "Minecraft" and "the dead linger"))

i guess its just too hard to do man. guess we'll hav to stick with this
