  1. The various 'challenge' ideas on some threads in the forums here offer some good ideas for some possible steam achievements
  2. I'm up to over 8 months so far on my latest player. This guy has survived one bite and several scratches. He's got 'thick skinned' so that probably helped turn several more scratches into bruising. Still, I started wondering if somehow I had screwed up the settings and turned off infection...but then I remembered that I am playing in the same world as the last two characters I played that died, one from a bite and one from just a single scratch. I'll post some screenshots eventually. Edit: Here it is...this is at one of my 'satellite' safehouses.
  3. With communities this size it would be highly unlikely to see a hospital - at best some type of 'urgent care' clinic; so hospitals are probably not likely until the map expands to larger urban areas. Fire stations...you might see a single 'county' station that covered both communities, or perhaps a combined fire district (some smaller communities do that) which again might have only one station on the map for both current towns. Or you could have smaller 'volunteer' fire stations in each community...or a combination of the 'combined district/county fire' model with the 'volunteer' stations as well. Anyway...at least one fire station should probably be in the works for the future
  4. 26. Whenever I see a box of pencils I can't decide if I should arm myself or write a journal.
  5. Which 'new' features would you like them to stop developing? Apparently not multiplayer since you want them to continue developing THAT new feature Basically your roadmap seems to be saying they should forget NPCs and the planned single player storyline, which while it would make the multiplayer community happy would certainly alienate the single player community. I'm not at all sure that's a recipe for 'full success'
  6. 6. Whenever I open my refrigerator, I'm surprised that it's not full of rotten food.
  7. I've read a few threads about expanding the usefulness of the potato (more recipes, etc) but I wasn't able to find a really basic suggestion: How about making a potato a valid option for the existing soup ingredients? It can certainly be a soup all on its own and is a staple ingredient in many other more varied soups; I'm also hoping it might be easier to implement than the more creative suggestions I've seen (such as baked potatoes, boiled potatoes, French fries, etc) Along the lines of those more creative suggestions though...has anyone yet suggested the eventual creation of your own chips/crisps?
  8. During the winter months it might be worth considering that temperature cold enough to freeze a human body is also cold enough to freeze food. In fact, during a prolonged period of coldness it would not be unlikely that you could effectively 'refrigerate' things by just keeping them in a box outdoors. To that extent letting the weather have an impact on more than just your body temperature is really the gist of my suggestion. A more involved idea might be the construction of some type of pre-industrial 'cold cellar'. This could be as low tech as a simple 'hole in the ground' type of room (that would be at its most effective in the winter months) to ultimately something as advanced as a structure built to be filled with ice and snow that would work as a low-tech 'freezer'.
