  1. Devs call it Gardening but it's for farming cos i don't think there's flowers seed to plant and it need only for vegetables now. Green Thumb can gain experience by waterings the plants or fertilize it and gardening can gain experience from prepare the terrain, plant and harvest...(cure the sickness too).
  2. Why? There's an answer to this question, but it can result as an insult for someone so i got my opinion for me. As i said i like this suggestion, it's real and functional and help to have fun those who like nature hobby or farming hobby.
  3. i know there's another topic for that suggestion, i was only make a link about the evolution of what i said, my principal suggestion is about survival objectives to win the boredom of those who make a save house with food and water.
  4. Pheraps we can fin a use for useless things. For example, after build our outpost(house or fortress) the devs can add for each object a grafic in game not only as objects on terrain. I don't know if iam clear enough explain it i try i different way(sorry for my bad english) Those useless items can be used as decoration, for example can be add the option "drop globe on the table" and a globe appear on table as decoration and generate around the player who live there less sadness and boredom. I think with the NPC introduction in game will be implemented some sort of trading, so each object will gain some sort of value and can be traded. A flower pot can be put on a shelf and can be watered to maintain flowers in life. Someone talk about fallout, i play it for long time, 1 2, brotherhood of steel, 3 + expansion... and always the junk items got a value in the trade, even the worst with 1(of value). So the suggestion for me is a good idea.
  5. At this point i want to introduce another type of suggestion about zombies. Why don't make the hordes much bigger and make it move on the map randomly, make them destroying wood walls, make the been attract from light and rumors from more far distance and let the player become more steal for surviving ? I think a scene in my mind where zombies was call from rumors and light and start attacking and siege the walls where inside the player barricade, and the same player shut off light(as campfire) and stop making noise, after that zombies will move along leave the player in peace. At this point is a must suggest a some kind of sounds traps for zombies as clock alarms or things that make noise, the meaning of that is for distract zombies or attract them.

I don't want realy suggest to build up something new in the game with this discussion, all i want to know is, what people expect to do after survive cos, i fortify a part of a warehouse in the city, i scavenge lots of houses for food, i get all tools for build and farm... i close the door and i can survive for years now in the game. I see some people here talk about the necessity to survive and prefer an easy weapon instead a working profession... so the objective of the game is, going killing zombies ? Flee from them? I was thinking the objective was to have fun playing the game and not run around find and trying to be bored. So instead of saying how many time a things require to be builded/crafted, a good thing can be to enlarge the time we can spend doing things on the game ? Even if at the end we can build a space missile used to go to the moon(jocking) isn't a good thing for the game let the players have more objectives from only run away or killing zombies surviving by scavenge ? What's the people expect from the game ? Personally i expect a good crafting system, allow me and my creativity to not find boredom after a week of play. So, we are now on the suggestion section so is a must to do a suggestion... I suggest to implement missions on game, at start as tutorial, or middle game as story mode. So definitely players can choose free play or campaign mode.
  7. World people call it "green Thumb" is a science. Lots study for achive it, lots have a innate talent for it. So i think AMajesticPotato want suggest the trait "green Thumb". Is not impossibile, is not fantasy, it's real, google it.
  8. And how the developers cancomment or say something about topic where i do my suggestion if it's closed? How can i know if they're interested on what i say or not if moderators have choose to close the arguments instead of ban, edit, remove or give warning to those who broke the rules?

I don't trust this last two answers given, i think you abuse of frendship or moderator powers to decise what u like or dislike about suggestion, maybe im wrong maybe not, but im sure of a thing, you're not devs at all i think so your is only a personal opinion and not a fact. So if was the community oldest members to reject or approve the suggestions then i can't be part of this community.

  12. I answer only for the electricity argument. Diesel fuel can be replenish with the simple oil used to fry potatos and can be made by sunflowers or mais. Even solar panels are easy to obtain, some houses and some farms use it, and if you can take it and fit in a good spot with sun light, you can obtain for the entire day the electricity need for 1 person. There are even dynamo generators to recharge batteries work with wind (heolic energy) or bycicle style generator as someone will see for sure in some tvfilms.
  13. Minecraft has been mentioned a few times. I believe the context for this is that people who have mentioned it don't want a very abstract, gamey crafting system where one can, for example, craft 3 bars and piece of wood into a sword, but something that better approximates the process and amount of work that would go into it in real life. It is unclear if anyone has actually argued in favor of a Minecraft-style system. I don't mean to use gamey as a disparaging word btw. Imagine an axis of realism, where on the other end is some kind of Minecraft-style highly abstracted crafting system, and on the other end is Metalworking / Woodworking / Pottery / Electrician / Surgery Simulator 2014. This is a very long axis, with space for many different type of systems. Everyone has their own idea of where the different game mechanics of PZ, such as crafting, healthcare and construction should be on that axis. I don't know if the developers themselves are very clear on all of it either. I remember back in the mists of history the devs spoke for trying to make everything fairly realistic while still being fun to play, but in practice that is a pretty nebulous concept. The matter of time is another question and i agree with you. But for example if for craft a sword need 7 days of ingame time, making it piece to piece, that's good for me. So the the question now is "how" instead "if", we're at a good point of discussion cos that mean there's will for people here to have crafting skill improved in more wide area. Im happy of that.

My apologies EnigmaGrey and harakka i was put out of the road with my mind from the words of rathlord, is not an excuse for me but, i lack patience when low grade arguments was put in my eyes and ears and i start to use hard words and making irony.   15. So there's 2 point of interest now. 1. Definition of "common" man. Nobody define himself or herself common cos each one have own abilities and traits, for this reason at the start of game you can choose different professions and drive own charater in the way you wish. So we are all the same "common" or we are all different... if the game want all characters be the same, then delete the profession selector. Delete the shops in the city, the medical centers, and the schools with the farms. Only houses for scavange will be avaiable cos in Muldraugh the commons know only to breath and fight.(Sorry for my manners, i take the point sometime with irony too) 2. Metalworks and Crafting is a Minecraft invention and it is impossibile in real life? (WTF?!?!?!) Of course not. The reason for this discussion is only one, either if a side won't admit it. They want find a "reason" to not make improvements on crafting and metalworking in game cos they dislike it, so they want convert the possibile in impossibile. If the discussion was built in more mautre way was end 3 pages ago with only this words, "I like it", "I dislike it", but the likes was more than the dislikes, some mages appear here to convert the possible in impossibile, and that make me angry and i don't want be angry for be taken as stupid. So if people and developers like to make this improvement is a good thing, if not is the same, no problem for me. I suggest my "likes" nothing more, nothing less.

So for you rathlord is more important for the developers Muldraugh and the people who live there of to making money with project zomboid in the world.... so this game is for the fun of Muldraugh people to revive city life in a zomboid world.... this game is not for world players you saying... but only for stone age Muldraugh people. This morning i wake up with the intent of buy this game, after reading you i change my mind, so if a developers or an admin don't come to shut your mouth i'll never buy this game, cos if you're right then i don't like this game.(I think you are a liar, developers create a game and put on market to do money with it not to make you happe a Muldraugh citizen). Whetever im 33 years old i do indurstrial high school, i do smith, metallurgy, chemical maintence on steel production machinery, foundry maintence, plastic and metal welder, gardner, boat engeneering, steel milling and truck driver... and i don't finish the high school only cos i need to go work at young age. So now you know of what i talk about and why i think is not fantasy my argument... but most of all, why i like to do that in a game too, cos i like it and i know how much usefull it is. So for you the game is end... the only upgrade it need is to add object to scavenge.... bleahhhh booooooring... totaly disappoint you. If you want Minecraft-esque arcade-y crafting systems and game play, this isn't the game for you. I'm sorry you find realism boring. Not all think as you, this is your opinion, is the opinion of one who lose a debate cos have finish the arguments to reply.
  18. Rathlord i work in a foundry, as smith and metal welder. You want me to present why you are wrong, so you want from me a lesson about the works i do in my life? You want a lesson about what i study in the school age? You ask me that ? I said there are a lot type of way to work the metals, there's a lot type of metals instead and there's all things and way to melt it... a player in a game don't have to learn how to smelt and work iron, that's prerogative of the character he or she comand. This is not a istructional game, i don't want to be your professor of metalworking and you don't need me to be it... all we have to know about my arguments it's not a fantasy but is real, pheraps in game the fantasy was the zombies not the blacksmithing, not the crafting. I don't want to teach to who won't learn and want only to win a debate to win his fantasy and wants to pass metallurgy like a fantasy... this make me crazy...it is impossible that we got to this point(low grade discussion). I said all i have to said, people will judge by his own who's right and developers too and i know the knowleged people will do the right thing about project zomboid to make the game more complete and fun than how it's now. So for you the game is end... the only upgrade it need is to add object to scavenge.... bleahhhh booooooring... totaly disappoint you.
  19. Im only defending my argument with all i have as i can from those who don't see the need. You'd just explain wich prospective you have in an ipotetical planet zomboid as i do. But there's a difference from me and you, i said how the game can become more fun (as my opionion) with building/crafting professions upgraded(cos alredy built in the game) with metalworks and more building options. For the compare people opinion, for me is an insult that the common people for someone is the ignorants without istructions. I learn metal working, mechanic, wood working and electronics at highschool, chemic too!!! At school!!! And im amazed that someone here think the common people stop studing at elementary school.... or all are gone only at literature or classic study only... Im amazed of your opinion that explain about survivor can't be a university or highschool professor, a simple hardware shop keeper, a mechanic, an engeneer... but only the blacksheep in the village... this disgusting me... and in this disgut i try to keep me calm and try to reply to defend my argument, but is very hard cos i don't have the patience to face the ignorance sometime but... is a real thing and i have to apologize with you all for my manners. I hope only to be of help for developers, project zomboid and who think as me about creativity and crafting.
  20. I totally agree with American Steel. Rathlord im sorry but i disagree you in all u've said. What is the difference about hobby, passions and the lack of these traits ? The one with passion make a dream come true, as for the indie stone with this game. Who lack this traits will never make something good in their lifes. Im a man and a player who have passions in real life, and it's a real thing for me, when i play a game i want my creativity being free and have fun, otherwise i prefer do the zombie character and go find survivors to kill. As American Steel said, there are people with certain aptitudes, and game must be for all players not only for kids who don't know how to work the iron or how tear down a car and put it back together... so, when you start a game and you think the game is more fun and more realistic run around as Rambo, you'll choose "Profession Rambo", or if u like a game where your character is an useless man you choose "Profession Drunkard".... and now tell me why i can't choose a profession as engeneering, or medic, or....etc etc... real professions! Not unrealistic profession but REAL as i am! Or you want tell me im not real and realistic? Then who are writing this topic? I repeat, i agree 100% with those who talk about what is possibile to learn (generic) and not those who talk about what is impossibile for them(won't learn and dislikes), we're not all the same, what is unrealistic and impossible for you is another argument, me and others don't talk about it. For survive you need, food and water, for live a life you need to follow your own will to be a complete person, nobody except animals can live with water and food only the entire existence, so, after survive the survivor must think about his/her life, a secure place to find and fortify, commodities and something to do will give a sense to go ahead, a home to return will enhance the life style and the hope of a better world and better place to stay and build that give the will to go on. I think about long term of surviving not short... thinking short with project zomboid will make the game itself short and boring after few days of playing. Would be interesting to have science and crafting skill to learn and improve that take "real" weeks and months to max and more building/crafting option will become aviable, as with survey skill that make aviable with the time the use of more survey object as metal detector or metal scraps findings. Project zomboid have a great potential i hope it will be as i imagine and make me play it alot of time without boring. Very compliment to the indie stone team to have made it and thanks for reading our arguments and take it in consideration.
  22. @nasKo: I think there are players don't like crafting skill in game, but only build a strong character and became Rambo Vs Zombies in game, for me is ok, i don't like it but it's ok, i want only let know to those players, can be another way of play in the game for players who like creativity and crafting, they say is impossibile to build something metal, but for them, all ppl are able to shoot with a bazooka or anytype of firearms. I don't know if someone see the TV series "The Walking Dead" but, in that film where the zombies infest the earth, not only the brute force prevail and various survivors with different specialization as cooking, hunting, medicine, crafting and leadership do their jobs to help each others and survive from the hordes, finding secure place to fortify, where farming and be protected from wheater. In TWD the doctor do the doctor, the chef do the chef, the leader do the leader and the brute strong close-minded die fighting for the own sake or to save others. Personally i don't think im able to explain why the crafting professions shouldn't be implemented... but im sure someone here like to play "only" Rambo Vs Zombies will find an answer.

There's people who have trust in luck and people who have trust in ourselves... survive in a game is not only for luck otherwise this game will be called slotmachineszomboid... if a skill system was built-in there's a why... or not? Luck and unluck is not all in life and those who wait luck to live their lifes are clocks waiting for the upcoming death... i don't want play as a booring clock, yes, you're out, im sorry for that.
