  1. I was thinking about how some things require a certain profession (Electrician for generators and whatnot) and I was thinking "Hey, what about some kind of feature where you can screw around with certain objects that gives you a chance of figuring out how to use it......or break it?"

No offence, but the magazines that teach you this stuff are sometimes difficult to find.

I was thinking how a tamper with feature could help out with the dilemma.

With it, you could think "I checked all the nearby places and STILL couldn't find that book.

Should I just mess around with the generator to try to figure it out, or check out that building all the way across town?

If I mess around with it, then I might break it, but the books that would help me learn it might not even be across town and I'd waste my time."

    What do you guys think?

  2. I normally don't try out the big mods for games, since I feel like it ruins the developer's vision. Buuuuut since this is being implemented in the game for realsies, I can make exeptions. :D

The thing is, I have been wanting to give this a shot for awhile now. Everyone speaks so highly of it.

  3. The 3D models almost give the game a new art style. I like it! :)

I messed around in Last Stand to get a good feel quickly. The framerate was so smooth.....at first. then the corpses piled up XD. That's to be expected, though. I'm pretty sure it's not because of the models. I kept messing with the settings to improve the framerate and switching to sprites didn't do any improvement, and if anything, the sprites made the FPS worse.

Short story shorter: The 3D models are awesome!

    Good work IndieStone!

The lighting is such an improvement too. I mean, damn. The line of sight is like 1:1 with the mouse now. And those animations....mmm. (really, all I can think to say is "mmm"? I'm running out of compliments. So little words, so much to say.) Is it just me, or do characters turn slower now? Not that it's a huge deal or nothing, just wondering.

  4. The skills weren't removed, they still here but now are "passiv", you can have them by selecting the correct traits (Strong, Stout...), but they level up/down automatically, depending on what you do (being lazy and you'll start to lose strength xp, chop trees to gain some, etc..)

    Oh, Neat.

......I guess I'll shut up then.

  5. I remember back in the day of the original 2.0 builds, there were about 14 skills you could level up.

It has now been lowered to 11.

Now that's actually a good amount of skills, but I miss leveling up stamina and the hauling capacity. Now when I play, my character tires out from 2 or 3 swings of a bat/bat like object.

While that is realistic, after awhile, wouldn't your body start to get use to it and be able to handle more?

I've been searching, but I can't find confirmation of those skills coming back.

    So...yeah, more skills. How 'bout?

  6. I'm not gonna lie. When I first played this game, I pirated it......I'm sorry . However, I have since bought it on Desura (I wanna make that clear) and I do legitimately feel bad about the pirating. I would've bought it sooner, but that was before I knew about the greatness that is a pre-paid credit card.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is: If you can afford it and have a way to buy it, Don't freaking steal! Especially for a reason as silly as "I only buy finished games". It's 8 freakin dollars and worth every penny, and when they raise the price, It'll be worth that much too!

Back on topic, Woo, Hiking bags!
