  1. Probably just make the standard bags you have now easier to see on the floor when you drop them, and have the ability to loot them like a container, rather than having to pick them up, equip, loot, unequip, and drop again. Hell, failing that, make the bags dropped on the floor easier to interact with. i seem to remember it being a royal pain to right click on a bag I dropped once in order to pick it up.
  2. Is the 'last beta build' the Steam version with opt-in beta? I've been without my desktop for the last few days, so, I haven't been able to stick my beak into things. Kinda know you have the itch to play PZ when you're doing unspeakable things to a linux live USB in an attempt to get it running...
  3. A WILD THREAD NECRO APPEARS! Any chance of a screen shot? This sounds like a good idea for a mod
  4. All comments of backseat coding and the like aside, and bearing in mind the current horde spawning system is a placeholder, would it be possible to tweak the density of the hordes a bit? I'm not talking about the metagame zombie density or anything like that, I'm talking about the really tightly packed squares of zombies the game loves to plop down here and there. Having the same amount of zombies spread out over a larger(ish) area on screen might make it a bit easier to move between/through hordes when things go pear shaped. No matter how many zombies are on screen, if you can sprint through a clear path in the horde, you're golden Also, I read something about visualisation tools apparantly being in the works. Any kind of ETA on those? Seeing a little debug window showing the density of local metazombie population in real time on a map would not only be useful in a gamey sort of way, it'd be damn interesting to see how the zombie population as a whole fluctuates in real time. I'm imaginging densities being painted out as menacing blobs of colour Hell, a long way down the road, putting some ingame crafting recipe/item in to access this population density map could be an interesting idea - Abstract out the radio chatter you'd have with the hypothetical-safe-zone-fortress and other survivors moving about, in order to check if it really is a good idea to use the shotgun right now
  5. So THAT explains why the cigarettes seem to be made out of depleted uranium. It's not that they weigh a lot, it's just extremely fiddly to keep 20 cigarettes nicely ordered in your bag without a box or something.
  6. Some sort of indicator under/near the cursor, to indicate that you've primed a melee swing, or aimed your pistol, would be useful. Despite how obvious it seems to be on the surface, sometimes the character pulling the bat to their shoulder, or levelling a pistol into a firing stance isn't that obvious. I've ended up thwacking doors with a bat on many an ocassion as a result. Perhaps a little icon popping up to the right of your mouse cursor (handgun, bat, etc. Perhaps the inventory icon of the weapon you're about to use?) or some red text (MELEE, FIRE) when holding down Ctrl would be a good idea. Just a little visual indicator you can toggle on or off in the options screen. Admittedly this isn't the samething as a targeting reticule, but, eh. I think it would be a nice little addition.
  7. Plastic bag/bin liners in-a-wooden-box could work pretty damn well from a water collecting standpoint. Could even take it a few steps further: Solar stills, craftable from waterbottles/plastic bags/etc to generate a miserly amount of water, only enough to survive off, certainly not enough to catch the rain when it falls. But, yes. Doing something unspeakabley creative to an empty garbage bin would be the best idea for a rain barrel. Here in Australia, some time ago now, there was an incentive to get 'water trolleys' to collect unwanted household water for gardening. It was literally a small wheelie bin with a tap on it. Seeing as I read something about wheelie bins being used to transport gear in earlier builds... Why not push a bin full of water back into town from a nearby well in the future? Obviously this wouldn't be the best of ideas if you were roughing it alone, but, in the future, the ability to cart water en masse from a source to a fortified survivor compound could be pretty awesome. Especially if the sloshing noise attracts unwanted attention... nice potential for escort work there
  8. They do the same thing, but Stout is cheaper, and not as effective as, Strong, I believe. Less points spent for less benefit, etc.
