  1. I guess I'm not the only one that likes building there. How do you manage to stack the crates like that? every time I try, the game puts them in the tile behind it Try pressing "r" when placing them.
  2. Ah now i see. No fortresses are way worse, since they make no sense.
  3. No i wouldnt. I never make bases in existing buildings, and sky fortresses are stupid.
  4. It really depends on your setting/the settings on the MP server you play on. Slow reader or illerterate are good, Athletic+runner are a must in every case.
  5. If you always run crawlers are not a problem. Also it's difficult to say whether or not if the thick skin trait is useless or not, if we don't have the stratch/bite percentages.
  6. Floating bases should just be made impossible. Some servers are filled with them it's ridiculous.
  7. As a european i have never even thought about these things, but i think you have a good point. Set in the USA so the names should be american.
  8. I honestly think that this whole discussion is about what i have mentioned a few times earlier, namely that we view the point/core aspect of the game differently. Some people think that being a bandit, looter and PK'er is morally wrong (Even on a PVP server where KOS is legal), because the point of the game is surviving together with other players, and some people think it is just fine to be a bandit. I personally wouldn't play the game if there was no constant danger from other players, that means either being killed or my base raided. SurvivingTestSubject you link to an article about trolling and say: "The whole concept of going online to harass, demean, gain attention, or be otherwise abusive is thoroughly antisocial... you would be very very very hard pressed to find any medical or scientific literature to disagree with this." One of my points is that you assume that when people kill in PVP servers, they are doing it for attention, harassing and just gernerally being a troll, but i don't think that, that is the case. Some people just think that PVP is fun, and a core part of the game. I would be very interested in how you came to the conclusion that bandits are killing, looting and the like, just to troll and annoy people.
  9. Is your point not that the far most of bandits are anti social? "It takes a certain personality type and by personality type I mean personality disorder type. Antisocial specifically. I am sure there are lots of people who like the pvp who aren't antisocial but I would be surprised if their numbers is anything but a small minority of players..." Are you not linking being a troll, an asshole and anti social with being a bandit? Saying that it's a very small minority that are not.
  10. SurvivingTestSubject You may be biased in your view of bandits. Maybe, because you already dislike them, you later make them fit into your "they are antisocial misfits" box, when in reality, they are behaving no worse than other people online. As a bandit myself, i do find your prejudice views quite offensive. Killing people in a killing-people-game (PVP server, where KOS is ok) is not being a bully. "There is nothing in the rules about the kind of verbal harassment, bullying, hate speech, or belittlement that I have seen to others..." Like i said, i have seen this stuff a lot from plenty of "friendly" people. What im saying, is that fx being a dick in chat, and being a bandit are unrelated. Have you never seen a non-bandit being an asshole, or have you just not paid attention to it, and therefore can not remember it?
  11. Hello. It would be nice if i could bind fx "1" to my pistol, and "2" to my hunting rifle, and even "3" to my axe. When i play MP, i always run with a hunting rifle, a pistol and an axe. When i press "1" i get the axe, and when i press "2" i get the hunting rifle. If i have to change to the pistol, i have to do it manually. Hopefully something like this will be implemented in the future. - Simon (sorry if this has already been suggested)
  12. So i've noticed that it hasnt updated in the last few days. Anything you can do?
  13. It seems its not really working at the moment.
  14. The way i understand it, when PZ gets better integrated in Steam, it will be way easier to limit characters to the steam account.
  15. There are complete tent kits, yes.
  16. I imagine it might have been a hardcore RP server, where that wasn't allowed. It's always good idea to read up on the specific server rules if you can. I there was no rules wirtten down, then it seems harsh. Yeah, there didn't seem to be a link to the rules in the description-- whatever the case it was frustrating. This is why I only play single player. I really don't think something like that should keep you from playing multiplayer. I have never heard of someone being banned for looting a house, you must have been very unlucky. There are plenty of great servers out there. If you tell me what you are looking for, maybe i can recommend one.

  18. You don't get pissed when you're killed because you're playin it like deathmatch. Players get pissed because they're playin for survival. I don't see how you don't "get" it, unless you're being willfully ignorant. When a player is killed by a bandit, the bandit has just taken away hours (if not days) that they've put in that toon. Opposite of that you get an "Alright! One more down!" The purpose of a rogue player or coop player is to scavenge/survive/build shit or whatever they choose to do. The purpose of a PKK is to kill player-killers or bandits. The purpose of a Bandit (aside from giving PKKs a purpose) is what? Whatever answer you could come up with is why Bandits are dickholes IMO. I'm using the word Bandit as a synonym for PK or someone that KOS. A bandit would be nothing else unless on an RP server. Don't be confused, I'm not tryin to tell you how to play the game or anything like that. You started this thread, I'm telling you why people hate you for your play style. I don't play the game like a deathmatch, i play the game focused on survival/PVP. But i do agree, like i mentioned earlier, that we bascially view the point of the game in a different way. I appreciate the insight into a bandit trashtalking persons way of thinking. I think we have made our points.
  19. I do expect to see bad behavior in chat, but that doens't mean that i like it. Because i don't. I think we basically just differ in our views of what the game IS. To you, bandits ruin the game, to me, they are essential for the game. If there were no bandits, i would not have played the game nearly as much as i have. No i don't get why people get pissed, because i don't get pissed when i get killed. I might get annoyed, but never at the player who killed me. I get annoyed at my self, because dying means i probably made some kind of mistake. I would never ever trashtalk in chat, and i don't see the point in doing so. Can i ask why you play on PVP servers to begin with? You even say the "best feeling" you have had in PZ was to kill a bandit. So are you really sure they ruin the game for you? And in regard to your last remark: I am personally neither fueld at all by trashtalking, nor is my only purpose to grief. I think trashtalking is bad for the game, bad for the server, just bad behavior. Being a gentleman is the way to go. My defense for being a bandit is not just that it is allowed, i think it is ethically just fine, and to me it is a core concept of the game. It is not that i just kill everyone, without thinking about it. You might be surprised to learn that i never kill someone i KNOW for sure is a new spawn, unless they come at me of course. I also never lure players in chat to meet, and then kill them. That would be ethically not ok in my opinion.
  20. I did take time to think about it, but i hardly think you collect paychecks during the zombie apocalypse I think its perfectly viable to think someone would kill you for your stuff, or just to be safe when spotting you around the corner in a zombie world. Also like i said, that kind of thinking is fine on a RP server, but that is not the kind of servers i am talking about. And lastly i'd say nothing you legitimately can do in the game, deserves the kind of trashtalking hostility i have witnessed. You can even see examples of the words used in this thread.
  21. Ah I see. So u can actually see from logs or something that they still have their skills? Well at least they must be easy to spot.
  22. Which means KOS is allowed, and should be expected. Also im using the general "you", not "you" as a person specifically.
  23. Those who are high lvl worked to become high lvl. When they die, the work hard to become high lvl again. You can do the same, and if u want to be safe u will learn in time where not to go, and to be more aware of your surroundings. You can start as policeman and have 3 accuracy, and that can kill anyone. People go on PVP servers and doesnt prioritze lvling up accuracy, which i don't understand. Also u cant tell in zomboid when another play is newly spawned or has got lvl 10 accuracy, and if u play on a PVP server without PVP safety, shooting first is the safest. If you keep dying and can never lvl up, its because you are not playing well enough. Maybe you keep going to central WP, og maybe you dont go for guns, ammo and try to lvl up. Or maybe u play zoomed in and just sprint into town. Why do you think this? Do you have any proof? On the sever i play on, EU PVP The good old dayz, there is 10x exp, and you can lvl up to lvl 10 acc in under an hour with the right picked traits and profession, if you have been smart enough to store a load of shotguns + ammo.
  24. An answer from some devs could be cool.
  25. Remedied? It is good that you actually meet people on mulitplayer servers, so i don't think its a good thing the map gets bigger, if that doesnt mean an increase in players. About your world chat and showing names concerns: These thing are server dependant. The admins of the servers can remove those features if they wish to do so. Also you can easily make bases in places where they are pretty much completely secure.
