  3. I think they already have this feature though it's a bit tricky to use. There should be some kind of menu you when try to load a save file to choose a character for it.
  4. Could the other player try connecting to a public server and test if the issues happen there as well? This is to investigate a larger problem with the connection.
  5. Are you on the exact same network as your brother? Such as being in the same house. And can you say what your ping is to the server? Since higher ping can usually mean a higher chance of a disconnect.
  6. Does it happen to all the players or just some? Does it even happen to the server owner? Additionally, can the server owner try connecting to the VPS, then connect to the server and see if they disconnect? This it to test for connection related issues and if using the VPS affects it.

Maximum eclipse will be at 13:03:32 local time when the 84.95% of Sun's surface will be covered by the Moon." - It also claims the partial eclipse vantage began at 11:20:42 and ended at 14:53:36 Since the game begins on the 9th of July 1993, it would only take 305 days before the solar eclipse happens, and only 15.05% of the sun would be uncovered from that part of the state at minimum. With there being a lot of players who've made it this far, I wonder if it might be an interesting detail to add for surviving over 300 days. Perhaps it could be mentioned on some broadcast, so the player has a clue about it happening in the distant future.   11. So I am currently using the ProfessionFramework to build my own mod containing newer professions. I have been testing around with changing the profession icons, especially for the custom professions I have created. Currently, my profession icons I intend to use are in \Zomboid\mods\ProfessionFramework\media\icons, and I have also tried putting them \Zomboid\mods\MYMOD\media\icons And then, in my profession mod.lua file, I change the "icon" to = "Prof_professionname.png" however in-game it is not changing the profession icon? Does anyone have any tips, or knows what I am doing wrong?
  12. Recently i started a server with my brother(he hosts the server). The first few days were fine but after some unknown issue that im trying to discover, i play with him on the server for anywhere to 2 up to 30 mins, after that i randomly get the prompt "Connection to the server lost". I cant figure out why this happens, it happens on all servers(not just those hosted by my brother), even those without mods(so its not cuz of them). I also formated my entire pc and reinstalled drivers and windows again, and the issue persists. Can anyone please suggest some solutions cuz the game(multiplayer) is unplayable. tysm
  13. After migrating our server to a new paid VPS running Windows Server 2019, players are encountering a "Connection to server lost" error a few minutes after connecting. This error does not occur when running the server from our own computer, and there are no apparent errors in the server console.
  14. Проблему решил переустановив steam и установив последнюю версию java, вылеты прекратились. Так же выделенный сервер перестал крашиться после этих всех манипуляций.
  15. Okay, watches in the game tell you the time, day and month but not the year. I think they should say the year too. See how much time has passed since 1993. It'd show the player and survivor how long humanity has been holding out basically as time goes by.

  17. I'd suggest a dedicated server but since you want every character playing on their own timeline that would be out of the question and somewhat strange I might add. Imagine one chracter deep in winter where no rain is falling but he already got carpentry 7, so easy solution is he builds a lot of rain barrels and a new char jumps into the world in summer where these said rain barrels pop into existence (back in time) and fills them up with water from the still working water pipes or even rain...? Or another example would be that freshly cooked meals and fresh ingredients travel forward in time?
  18. So i am hosting my own server ( from my personal PC that i am playing from as well). I have 2 players, one that plays locally on the same network as me and another one that joins the server remotely from another network. I had a problem with the local player before because the port 16262 was now forwarded but i did that and everything was fine for the last 2 days. Now whenever he joins he can play without problem for about 30 sec to 10 minutes and then gets con05-05-24_15-08-17_DebugLog-server.txt05-05-24_15-08-17_DebugLog-server.txtnection to the server lost. The remote player is fine he doesn't disconnect so that leads me to believe it's not the mods ( i also disabled the mods that got updated in the last 2 days to be sure it's not the mods). The local player uninstalled the mods as well and re-downloaded them. The network or server settings have not changed in the 2 days, the remote player and myself have had no problems ( i only lost connection to my own server twice in the past 2 days). I have acces to both my logs and the local player so if you need any of that just tell me what files to send.   22. Sometimes I would like to build bases for long term, sometimes I want to live in an RV, and others I want to just carry everything in a backpack and wander around. It would be cool if you could add an option in the main menu that let's you chose the character you want to play and load them up in that same world ever other character you have is living in. So I have 2 characters, 1. Mike (base buliding) 2. Shannon (solo wanderer) and 3. New Character. When I go to load the world, I can choose what character I want to load in as. The world is updated for each character based on the last save file. So you can interact with your base your other character built if you come across it, and the changes will be there when you load your base builder dude. Say you burnt down a building on your base builder, when you load in as a wanderer you'll see the building burnt down. Deaths are the same, the body and items are there to be found by another character you can play as. Essentially you have have an unlimited amount of play throughs going on at the same time. As for the time of the year, each character should be on their own clock. This would keep a new character from starting when the water and power are already off due to another character already months in. The only thing that is the same across characters is the physical environemnt.
  23. My game won't open anymore... It all started when I tried to join a multiplayer server and ended up deleting the "Zomboid" folder, after that my game wouldn't open anymore. I have the game's minimum requirements by far, I've already formatted my PC and I've been talking to a Zomboid expert on Steam for days now. At this point my game opens, but when I go to customize my character, the game crashes.
