Stutters but it shouldn't how do i fix it?

Just bought the game yesterday on steam first time playing opted into the beta 41 no mods. as i play the game random stutter/freeze/lag especially around zeds which is terrible i get one on the ground game stutters when it resumes i'm already bitten and infected from the zed that was prone WTF!!!!? would love to play but the stutter literally is killing it for me

Try adding an exception to your antivirus for the "Zomboid" folder found in "C:\Users\YourUserName\"
This fixed the stutters for a lot of people, since the antivirus keeps checking every file the game creates (for save files), which makes it stutter.
