Foraging broken in the new 41 build????

Using the new build 41 has anyone else been able to get food from foraging or even medical herbs? So far the only thing I have gotten was materials and after 2 RL hours of foraging and 3 levels (no bonus to leveling or books) I have yet to get any food and honestly got bored and quit (had no weapons aside from a single nearly broken stone axe and a pair of pants left). Started on the CD CA choice so didn't feel like 20 restarts until I chanced upon something to let me survive again. XD

I have had food and herbs in the new build. Difficulty I was using: Builder.

It works for me, I just gave it a quick try. 

Try unticking materials and only look for food or herbs and/or try a different spot, I think you have better chances to find stuff outside of town, a little deeper into the forest.

Did that already. All I can think off is I still had a mod going somewhere but It's still weird since I don't use any that handle foraging. Maybe it was the scenario start as I think the CD DA start is winter time I think.

That would explain it, you can't find food during winter.
