  1. erm.... item DietPopBottle { HungerChange = 5, Weight = 0.8, Type = Food, UnhappyChange = -10, ThirstChange = -85, DisplayName = Diet Soda, ReplaceOnUse = PopBottleEmpty, Icon = Co2DietPopBottle.png, } There is NO WAY that could possiblyy work, because in code I'm taking the contents of Icon and putting media/inventory/Item_ at the start and .png at the end and calling getTexture on it, so that would be getTexture("media/inventory/Item_Co2DietPopBottle.png.png") If that does work then frankly my head will explode.
  2. yeah the point is it loads the texture at the moment the inventory item is created for the first time.... Will look into it when I get a mo, but the method I described has worked for about 2 years since the inventory item system was first coded in :S

The images are never loaded: from the log: WorldScreen:create table 0x1024247087 LOADED UP A TOTAL OF 123 TEXTURES ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That's the normal number of textures reported. hmm odd, I've used this a million times myself. :S every time we put inventory items IN in fact they are there until we pack them. tho you should totally ignore the 'total of 123 textures' as it's not counting a lot and should be removed, considering there are over half a million textures
  4. Just do: Icon = Thing and put: Item_Thing.png in media/inventory/
  5. I'd wait on 30 mins or so peeps. There was a crash bug when smashing windows. Fixed and uploading now so I'd wait until 30 mins from the time of this reply before downloading, or those who have already got it, redownload at that point and avoid smashing windows (via the menu / hammering E, not swinging weapons manually) in the meantime
  6. We've got to balance our staunch zombie lore principles with fun gameplay. Zombies doing that is more fun, or rather them not doing that is massively less fun, and it doesn't BREAK the zombie lore so much as bend it slightly, and can be sufficiently explained away. Really people should be more concerned with the zombies pathfinding ability, which is much better than it perhaps should be, for similar gameplay reasons. I think on the whole we still do zombies more 'properly' than a large percentage of zombie games.
  7. saw DanShu playing this was ace! One thing I noticed / he pointed out, was that fainting wasn't much a threat, since zombies didn't seem to attack while he was unconcious, so even falling asleep amongst a horde you could just pick up where you left off. Is this a problem with normal sleeping? Is this something we need to fix?

  11. The difference would be so negligible so as not worth worrying about tbh... Stay away from using OnTick if possible for any 'gameplay stuff' if every ten minutes will work for you, since tick is every game update regardless of game speed, and you'd need to factor the game speeds in yourself.

  13. Eeek, Psy seems to have vanished, so no idea if I am right for sure. Since I'm off to bed, to keep it moving, I'll carry it on anyway and if it turns out I'm wrong we can jump back to his as soon as he's about. He took another juicy bite and reflected that it's never been so much fun.
