  1. I do agree that collecting rain as drinking water is in fact pretty easy in real life. But it would at least be a nice feature and more realistic, if occasionally there wouldn't be any rain for 3-5 days so that you have to use up your rain barrels and that if you did not properly manage your water supplies, you get into trouble and may have to eat rotten watermelons or things like that
  2. At the moment as there is no real zombie movement yet, I have made the experience that all you have to do is to clear out the immediate area around a house and you can use that as safe house without getting troubled by any zombies. No need to build any fortifications as of yet. The occasional single walker you can just bash his head in. But still, it's fun to fortify a house and build a base, so I still do that eventually I guess any house in a central location close to neighbourhoods and shops/warehouses is nice.
  3. Yeah I hope they find a balance in that too. I didn't even had to water once (except when seeding) during my last crop rotation (cabbage). The rain did all the work for me + full rain barrels. I just ignored the fact that the water shut off doesn't properly work at the moment anyway. Rain seems to be nearly every day or every 2nd day at least, sometimes a few times a day for a short time. It needs to be lowered or we will have full rain barrels all the time. I once watered all the crops (12 "fields") with rain water, but I didn't even see a difference in the water barrel, it looked still full. I was using a small water barrel.
  4. Yeah that actually makes sense now that I think of it. An option for sandbox to mix all zombie types up still would be nice though.
  5. I would also like some, but relatively rare runners in survival mode and to mix them up with walkers. Only runners will do for some intense hardcore sandbox mode but a mixture would be great as well. So far there is only a mixture of "Shamblers" (?) and fast shamblers, but not together with runners. Runners are only seperate in sandbox.
  6. Yeah although I really like that theme phrase "This is how you died". You will eventually always manage to live and survive forever if you are good enough. Only thing to stop this would be taking out farming or rain water and stuff like that or scripted events of a horde raiding and killing you. But that would be unfair. I would also wonder what happens with NPC's if you do a Sandbox game and change the Zombies into Runners and with the hardest difficulty settings. The NPC's are probably going to die off in about 1 ingame hour. And so will you
  7. I am fairly new to this game and haven't played old versions yet where the NPC's were in the game, so I am not really sure how the NPC's would behave and if they would just stay in their houses idle until you come or roam around like you, scavenging stuff. In last case, they would probably die a lot and thus there should either be a lot survivors at the beginning or code the game this way, that always when a survivor dies, another one is randomly generated into the game somewhere. It's also realistic as survivors from other towns might be on a trip somewhere else and make stop at this town, which would explain new survivors.
