I would literally be shocked if Horses didn't get added to the game

You do know where they run the Kentucky Derby, right?

They have horse jockey costumes and horse stables everywhere on the map, it is almost certainly in the cards.

As opposed to figuratively or metaphorically shocked, of course!

Normally such a thing is handled as a audio option.
If you turn it off for yourself, you'll never hear your nor other's voices anymore. If you turn it on you'll hear yours and others.

It's not like you turn it off but will still hear the grunts and shouts of others. Don't really think it should be a setting forced upon players in the server settings, as long as it doesn't also change anything when it comes to gameplay.

I still want the option as a sandbox/server config that applies to everyone's game, not just mine.

I am really sure that will be the option to activate / desactivate the voiced lines in the settings, I don´t think in sandbox, but in the game audio settings.

About your opinion, I agree with you. I really like the way It´s now. Maybe some people want it, but not me for sure. Like you said it will cause a lot of repeated voices for sure in MP.

This is like in Fallout, how many mods are for Fallout 4 to silent the protagonist, because no ones can RP with a default assigned voice.

About the exhaustion / attack sounds, I really think they add more immersion for a RP playthrough, so I am cool with that.

Idk I feel like servers should have a sandbox option or a config setting so that everyone is on the same page at least.

  4. I know that you've put a lot of work into it, but a sandbox option or an audio setting to bring back mute characters would be great. I'm really not a fan of the character voices, and I think it kinda overwrites some of the "roleplay" aspect the game has. With the player voices, you don't imagine your character as they are, the game will assign you a voice and you need to deal with it.

Also, inevitably, no matter how many voices you include, you'll start seeing repeats, or even have two players in the same server who have the same voice. I don't like that, personally.

Not asking for it to not be added, just to have the option to turn it off.

You get prompted to pick your settings when you launch a server in-game. Just make the settings ahead of time, then there’s no need for futzing with it.

If modders made the mistake of using duplicate ids, then it’d be best to ask them to change it*, but this shouldn’t be a problem in build 42.

*that goes especially for people making packs of other peoples’ mods without doing so.

I do agree with you, but I would like to mention that Mod Manager UI mod has a really elegant preset and mod selection screen through the regular mod menu, among other really excellent QoL changes like improved filtering, the ability to tweak your load order in-game (afaik this isn't doable without the mod), etc.  Have you considered getting in touch with the guy who made it? I undrstand that in such a case money and time is definitely a factor, though.

  6. Mod Manager UI mod already has a built in solution to this, you create a preset just like you would in singleplayer, select the server you'd like to save the preset to, and boom, it's all done for you. Works a treat, so much so that I genuinely think the devs should get in touch with the guy who made it.

  7. This is all super duper cool, I just hope that you can turn off voice actors in sandbox options, voiced characters sounds super immersion-breaking and maybe evena little annoying to me, and takes away from the roleplay imo. At the very least for the actual voiced lines like "hey you".

I also hope this doesn't mean that the "zomlish" on the TVs and radios is getting replaced with voice acting. I'd love to keep or even expand the paratropic-esque vaguely human sounding gibberish that comes from them atm.

Everything else is totally awesome, and the doors all opening and closing at once seems like some kind of eldritch horror gone awry.

  8. I like the idea of skill completion rewards but tbh cannibalism doesn't sound like something that'd require level 10 cooking, and we already do passively regen stamina when walking and not overburdened.

We also already have crits and the like as 'instant kills'.

Love the idea, think the actual perks you get from it should be reworked.
