Your other option would be to forcibly kill the characters on the server if they don't comply. That's assuming they don't make a backup.

In your control panel there should be a section that gives "FTP Details" these can be used in conjunction with an FTP program like FileZilla, to connect to the server and in the Zomboid/Server folder you can add the file there.

If you want to generate the file, you can go into your ProjectZomboid directory and there should be a PZSettings.exe program that you can run to create the settings and export it to your desktop or something so that you can add the file to the server.

If the server is hosted on your computer, don't use any other IP than localhost otherwise it can create some weird issues for yourself.

Go to the C:/Users/<yourname>/Zomboid/Multiplayer and delete the server with your IP address attached to it. Odds are you still have a character that's associated with the server and is using that old folder.

It looks like the server might of not shut down properly and corrupted the save file. You'll need to wipe the saved world I'm afraid.

    C:\Users\<windowsusername>\Zomboid\Multiplayer

Delete the server test folder. That should sort it out.

I'm always hanging around Multiplayer help, guess I just missed this one. Sorry about that.

Are you connecting on a LAN, if so. Are you using 127.0.0.1 if so, don't. user localhost instead. If none of this well... lets see if we can sort the problem. Go to your Zomboid/Sandbox folder and find the character saves associated with the server, if you could say how it's laid out. (e.g it should be creating multiple instances of your saves in the folder.)
