  1. From hunting with the bird call and poop and a gun or bow. And yes they are alive, but not in the same way rabbits and chickens can be, in that they can be bred.
  2. I don't think you can get live ducks. You can get live rabbits and chickens, but as Hydromancer said, you find the rabbits in cages already, or in corn fields. Chickens are hunted with wild game poop. Also, you can carve your own bird/duck calls with a knife and a block of wood.
  3. Suggestion: Making bladed items should raise your Blade Maintenance, and making Blunt objects should raise your Blunt Maintenance. Reason i say this, is that you need higher blade maintenance now to make the higher level blades. Which really doesn't make sense, a blacksmith doesn't need to go out and kill stuff to be able to create the bigger swords, he needs to practice making more weapons. I realize i could just edit the recipe to take away the need for maintenance skill to create the higher level weapons, but i like the progression aspect, i just wish it was more realistic. Besides, it would give players who prefer to craft in MP to be able to work their way up to making great swords by mining and smithing, as opposed to hacking at zombies. Historical note, there is a reason the last name "Smith" is a very numerous in the phone book. People used to be named for their profession, and "smiths" blacksmiths etc Didn't get sent off to war, they were needed back at home to make more swords, so they had more chances to make kids than the warriors who were sent off to die. This is why there are more "Smiths" and less "The Great" or "The Brave"
  4. The wooden crate that you can make and drop on the ground is different from the crates you see that are placed on the ground like walls, or chairs etc. To make the placeable wooden crate that can be stacked, have hammer, nails and planks in your inventory, then right click on the ground near you where you would like to place the crate. When the menu pops up, there is the option "walk to" and "Build" the build menu is where you want to find "Wooden crate" Once you build one, you can do the same action to build another, but press the "R" key, and it changes the height of the crate, so it allows you to place it on top of other crates.
  5. Just put in an application, hoping to hear back soon.
  6. Is this server still accepting new players? How is activity?
  7. Not sure if these are what you are looking for, but here is every item and recipe that is part of Hydrocraft. I think it is taken directly from some files, so, it is automatically updated when HC is updated. Unless that's wrong? Hydro?
  8. Oh this is perfect thanks so much!
  9. Make a bunch of empty buckets, then go up and right click on it on the ground, the same way you would mine, or use a sawbuck or carpenters bench.
  10. I'm wondering how i would go about removing the requirements of having to start as a farmer to be able to make the pesticide sprays? Is it even possible?
  11. i have a fix for this. under mods/hydrocraft/media/scripts there is a text file, foodjarredfruit. open it and find this segment: recipe Prepare Jarred Berries { SkillRequired:Cooking=4, Strewberrie/BerryBlack/BerryBlue/BerryGeneric1/BerryGeneric2/BerryGeneric3/BerryGeneric4/BerryGeneric5, Strewberrie/BerryBlack/BerryBlue/BerryGeneric1/BerryGeneric2/BerryGeneric3/BerryGeneric4/BerryGeneric5, Strewberrie/BerryBlack/BerryBlue/BerryGeneric1/BerryGeneric2/BerryGeneric3/BerryGeneric4/BerryGeneric5, Strewberrie/BerryBlack/BerryBlue/BerryGeneric1/BerryGeneric2/BerryGeneric3/BerryGeneric4/BerryGeneric5, Result:HCBunchofberries, Time:75.0, Category:Cooking, } recipe Cook Berries { SkillRequired:Cooking=4, destroy WaterPot, HCLemonjuicebowl/HCLemonjuicebottle, Sugar, HCBunchofberries, Result:HCJarredberriespot, Time:75.0, Category:Cooking, } recipe Jar Cooked Berries { SkillRequired:Cooking=4, HCJar =2, HCJarredberriescooked, Result:HCJarredberries=2, Time:75.0, Category:Cooking, OnCreate:recipe_hcpot, } delete the segment and put this in recipe Prepare Jarred Berries { SkillRequired:Cooking=4,destroy WaterPot,HCLemonjuicebowl/HCLemonjuicebottle,Sugar,HCBunchofberries,Result:HCJarredberriespot,Time:75.0, Category:Cooking,} recipe Jar Cooked Berries{ SkillRequired:Cooking=4,HCJar =2,HCJarredberriescooked,Result:HCJarredberries=2,Time:75.0, Category:Cooking, OnCreate:recipe_hcpot,} this corrects the sequence and makes the recipe work as intended. So, if i understand this, it let's you make jarred berries out of bunches of berries, instead of all those random berries? I also notice it destroys the pot of water, but at the end the "OnCreate:recipe_hcpot" does that recreate an empty cooking pot? Thanks for responding, i'll have to try this out!
  12. Bug: Making the recipe "Prepare Jarred Berries" doesn't make jarred berries, or a pot of jarred berries, it makes Mixed Berries.
  13. Also, you get 1 salt powder from 1 rock salt, after grinding, but it takes 8 salt powder to fill a shaker. How small are these rock salt rocks we are mining? Or maybe i should ask, how large are these salt shakers?
  14. Great update Hydromancer! I am finding that when pickling vegetables using the HC pickling mods, (not the vanilla jar recipe that gets rid of the lid when you open it) that when you use up a vinegar bottle, or a salt shaker, you don't get the empties back. So, now that salt rocks are working, it's recipe calls for empty salt shakers, but, where do i get those? since the entire item seems to be consumed when it is empty. The vinegar bottle is not a big issue, as we can make whiskey bottles to fill more, but i couldn't find a salt shaker recipe under glassworking?
  15. A couple of general questions: 1) How do people usually raise their electronic skills? Vanilla, i think the only way was take apart video games and stuff. Does HC add a new way? 2) Water Pump - What is this used for? I can't seem to get it to actually pump from the river. 3) Is there any way to refill empty Welding Gas Tanks? If not, what do i do when i run out? just hope to find more in crates? 4) Where do i find chickens and rabbits to fill my hutch and chicken coop?
  16. From what i understand, you get chains from medium junkyard using a metal detector on small bags of trash, and to get those, the best is either mining or sifting dirt. Oddly enough, small bags of trash are very rare in the world.
  17. You are right. I will add it to the list. Sorry for that I really thought I had added Rock Salt to the mining chances. Well, glad it can be fixed, i am seriously in need of salt! I can imagine with all the scripts and code you have to look at, a few things are going to be missed. Guaranteed though, if you miss it again in the next update, you will hear me the second i load my game up. Keep up the great work, this mod is amazing!
  18. Well, you can make wood pallets, some thick rope, and then make stone pallets (at least for "Stone" i grab a chisel and turn the "Chipped Stone" into stone arrow heads for easy storage) As for stuff like Marble and Limestone, i just toss it in boxes and hope there is a use for it before the next time i have to start over. Of course, you can edit a file so they never show up. (but back up before doing so) Save your Sandstone to make into Sand if you ever want to do Glassworking. Chalkrock is good for making chalk, though i've not found a use for chalk yet.
  19. Again, regarding Rock Salt. While Rock Salt is listed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\108600\498441420\mods\Hydrocraft\media\scripts\Mining.txt" It is not listed under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\108600\498441420\mods\Hydrocraft\media\lua\server\RockHCExtra.lua" Which i am assuming is why it is not ever received while mining or sifting. Also a line in Mining.txt player:getInventory():AddItem("Hydrocraft.HCGypsum "); there is a space after Gypsum, which is why i get the error in the log of ERROR: itemcontainer.Additem: Can't find Hydrocraft.HCGypsum
  20. Yes you get it from Mining or Sifting Dirt. There are more mineral choices now from then then normal foraging. Sifting dirt? how do you sift dirt? As for the mining, i spent about 5 in game days mining, i got a lot of new ores, but no Rock Salt. I have 12 crates full of ores, different assorted things i have no idea what they are for (Jade, Meteorite, etc) Sandstone, Marble, and 20 palates of stone, plus tons of boxes of trash and bags of trash, zombie bones, worms etc etc, no Rock Salt at all. And this is all after the patch that fixed rock salt. Edit Looking at the log while mining, it is telling me ERROR: itemcontainer.Additem: Can't find Hydrocraft.HCGypsum Nothing about Rocksalt though, is it just that rare? I am mining using a PickAxe in an upgraded mine. Tried the Mining Drill, but each battery it takes only lasts for about 5 or so mining actions, and hitting mine all, then putting it on the fastest speed to mine for a whole day, it just doesn't cut it.
  21. Anyone have any idea where Rock Salt comes from? When Hydromancer posted that it was fixed, i assumed i would start getting it from mining. I haven't so far, and i've done a lot of mining since. I've also never seen it anywhere in any container. Has anyone ever gotten this?
  22. Strength is measurable in the UI. On the skills tab, at the top is an arrow, click it, and it shows your strength and fitness level. If you hover over the box after the yellow square, it tells you how far you are into gaining the next level. Is it possible it has been added after 32.6? I can't see any arrow besides the one that "sticks" the entire chart to the screen. Yeah, i've only been playing a few weeks, but it was there when i started.

  24. That will be really helpfull. Hitting that link that you provided Hydro, says they are "Fully Complete Crafting / Item Wiki for Hydrocraft coming soon!" I wonder if we should wait to see what they come up with in regards to our HC Wiki?
  25. From nailgun ammo and need hammer Yeah i know, but was wondering if i can craft it from metal or smth. Yes, you first need to make nail molds at the kiln with clay. It's under Pottery. Making nails is under blacksmithing, and requires iron ingots as well as the usual smithing items at a smelter. (toongs, charcoal, ignition source, gloves) To learn to make iron nails you need the Iron Working book as well as Pottery
