i downloaded this game on steam and it wont open help me pls

 i downloaded this game and it wont open it pops up and then closes straight away. i instaled java and thryed again and didnt work and now i dont know what to do

Go to the installation directory of the game by right clicking on Project Zomboid and selecting Properties in the Steam game library then press the Browse Local Files button shown here: http://i.imgur.com/PFy0kmJ.png

While you have these options open, disable the Steam overlay in the General tab.

Find the ProjectZomboid32.bat file (blue gears for an icon, not a red and black egg) and double click it. Once (if) the game crashes, take a screenshot of the console and upload it to imgur.com, linking it here. This will hopefully tell us what's wrong. =)

Hi, I've been having the same problem I think, the game loads and then after choosing character traits it crashes. I tried it on 32 and 64 (my computer runs Windows 7 Home Premium with a 64OS) and took screenshots;

Update your graphics drivers directly from Intel's support website. It should then just work, at least for your graphics card. If you'd rather just play now, go into Options and disable 3D models, then press Apply and OK. Start the game as normal.
