Yes, it makes sense to maximize the amout of food you get out of each item- but like. If I am cooking a soup I do not cut off a tiny portion of the onion and not put it into the soup. Who does that. I would like the entire food item in the meal.
(Also, the game isn't just giving you free food, you actually put less food into the dish in turn- this is why cooking at level 10 actually gives fewer calories than cooking at level 9, you save enough food from level 10 that it supercedes the free calorie generation of cooking levels)
Will definitely share the save file. I checked the save file, and it's currently around 70MB (uncompressed) and 16MB (compressed).
But I'll find a house to do the test on first, then I can share the file with both locations built up. Hopefully that clears up what the issue is.
I've not tried moving all the sinks to different locations. But when in -debug mode, I did delete the original sinks at location 1 & 3, and spawned in sinks from the items list, and the issue didn't change. Because the water is on, the sinks at 1 & 3 plumb fine to what can be considered "water mains". But only the sink at location 2 sees the rain barrels positioned above, since it's the only one which offered an additional "plumb sink" option, which would be to the rain barrels, in the event the water does shut off.
So my assumption is that the locations are the issue, since I have spawned in alternate sinks.
My only other test I was considering, is going to build the same type of setup in any of the adjacent houses (with a similar floor layout - i.e. 3 sinks on ground floor), and see if the issue can be replicated that way. I'll only try this later today, or tomorrow, and provide feedback on this test.
