nwr
Is PZ dedicated server optimized for multi-core CPU?I've noticed that using more than 2 cores didn't boost performance and other cores are not used
harakka
The server doesn't use that much CPU horsepower anyway so there wouldn't be much benefit in going above the current level.

harakka
Interesting, may I ask you how many people you have on and what CPU your server has?
nwr
Interesting, may I ask you how many people you have on and what CPU your server has?there was 15-18 players. CPU - Intel Xeon E5-1650(6x3.2 GHz). But this is a virtual server, maybe cores was shared between some VMs.So anyway, I think it will be good to do some multi-thread optimization. With the new public server browser there are many players that want to play online.. a lot of players UPD: now again almost 100% CPU, 25-30 players on server. nwr
It's still an issue.I track that it's related to the zombie amount, not just number of players.
nwr
18-20 players
Brybry
In my experience the map chunk stuff can be cpu limited. For example, on a 3Ghz core2 duo server if I make an admin user and run as fast as I can in a given direction it'll max out one core.
