Same router. I can connect, wife cannot connect due to Server Timed Out Waiting For Response

Hey All,

 

I'm having the weirdest situation where my wife and I are trying to connect to the same server and I can get in while she cannot. She did join one time and cannot since then even after creating a new character.

Here's what we've tried:

 

She's uninstalled and re-installed the game and all mods.

We've asked the server admin to bump up the Server Timeout Connect from 60 to 90 seconds with no effect.

We have the same firewall settings and are connected to the same router through ethernet.

 

The only difference between our computers is my dedicated gpu of 960m while she's on amd integrated 3400g with updated drivers.

 

Please let me know if you have any suggestions and thanks!

We've tried just having her computer on the router and nothing else connected but to no avail. We are both on latest version and windows10.

Hi Beard, thanks for the quick reply. I changed her settings to NOT use Steam Relay and there was no change, still timed out waiting for server. 

 

We've verified files before and after logging in without effect.

She can join other servers and actually joined this particular server once before. She tried joining this server under a different name and had the same error.

 

So, if you don't see anything wrong, I'll ask the admin if there's some blocking going on from their side. Thanks!

Yeah that is unfortunately the only idea I have, that something must be blocking the connection on their side. Some service providers might think that if you connect too often to a server as a DDOS, and would block the IP from connecting again, so it might be an issue there. Since it would not make sense that she can connect to every other server if it was an issue on your side.
