Game crashes my PC at menu

Question

Hello all,

Recently, I was gifted a newer pc my one of my family members. I downloaded Project Zomboid, but found that the game would simply stay at a black screen and not load, no music or anything. Eventually I found a fix for this, although I forgot exactly what it was that I did, and although it fixed the black screen, PZ itself crashes about a minute into the main menu. So far I have found no fix for this, and no telltale sign of what's causing it. I have used HWinfo to monitor my CPU temp and it showed that it stays at a steady 60 degrees celsius with no rapid spike in temperature. I have verified integrity of files again and again, while also running HP diagnostics to no avail.

I am so confused as to why my PC cannot run PZ, especially since I can play Cyperpunk 2077 and Valheim at max settings and ~90 fps with zero issues. If anyone has encountered this issue and or could potentially help please do so, I am grateful for any effort.

PC Specs:

Model: Victus by HP 15L

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics

RAM: 16 gb

Graphics: Geforce GTX 1660 Ti

Edit: After going through the pinned post, I have updated my graphics drivers and all it seemed to do was make my game crash faster lol. Also attached the console file. Only time anything like this has happened is when I tried to extract a large file from my external hard drive.

In that case, can you check the Windows Reliability monitor for any ProjectZomboid application crashes there? If you do find any, can you share a screenshot of the Technical Details section so we can check the errors that show up there?

There do no seem to be any specific errors in that log.
Can you share the latest “hs_err_pid” file found in your main game folder “Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid”?

Just went through the directory, and there is no file under that name.

It's fixed! Went to reliability monitor like you said and saw that there were issues stemming from Razer Synapse and whatnot. Uninstalled all of it and now the game works like a charm. Thank you for the help!
