SandboxVars problem

Hi everyone,

 

I have a problem with the SandboxVars file, specifically with setting the month, day and time. I set the month of November (11) since it seems that December is not there, then I set the current day and finally I select 5 PM. The problem is that everything in the game remains unchanged at the default settings.

 

Is there anyone who had the same problem and solved it?

You can write 12 and it should select december even if its not in the tooltip.
As for the time, you need to wipe your save and start a new one for the new settings to apply.

And is this something I have to do only regarding the date or does it apply to other changes too?

Most settings do not need wiping, but the start date specifically does. Since you cannot change the date after starting the server.

Sorry Beard, one more thing. If I had to reset the server again to set another date, is there a way to save the characters created so far?

Yes, the characters are specifically saved in the "players.db" file in the save folder of the server. Backing that file up and then loading it back in would save your characters.
You may also need to backup the "WorldDictionary" files as well, there should be 3 of those in the save folder.

What is WorldDictionary for? I'm asking you so I can get a little cultured

Basically keeps a register of all items on the server and  their assigned ID, and whether they are modded, obsolete and so on. You can see more in the "readable" file in the save folder.
