VHS Name Changing and VHS aren't providing any Exp Gain

We have experience an issue with our server (hosted through GPortal) wherein the VHS tapes names are different from other players. For instance, on my end, the VHS is showing as Woodcraft Ep. 7, while when it's being viewed/held on by new players, the VHS becomes "The Moderators" VHS. I've made some testing on our end and I noticed that the VHS name changes when a new character is made, while with any existing characters/players (who didn't die and have to create a new character), the name of the VHS remain to their original name (Woodcraft Ep. 7), however when we try to watch the said VHS, it's not providing any EXP. Any suggestion on what do to about this? Or which settings or configuration files should I look to check if there's any problem?

 

Our server is hosted though GPortal and has mods in it.

Yeah. There's an ongoing thread about VHS not giving EXP after a new character is created. I hope they fix this soon.

Both issues are known to us and fixes have been submitted. Should be out with the next patch.

Is a workaround described anywhere? This has me and my partner a bit stuck as we need to train up a new character and it's getting incorrect tapes. I thought giving .67 a go might be worth a shot, but I own the GOG client and IWBUMS there is still .66. Copying recorded_media.bin around sort of works, but that seems to also include the watched status so it's not all that helpful in the end. I did find instructions for using a hex editor to reset watched status and the only thing I can think of is to try to use that as a basis for creating a "clean" recorded_media.bin we can use for the new character, based off of a character that does show the correct titles. Any tips for a less laborious approach would be appreciated.
