Cant find my local or any public servers

Hi,

I tired to host a local steam server, downloaded dedicated server tools, forwarded 16261-16264 and 8766, ran the server and put the server IP into zomboid and it said the server is not responding. After about an hour on google and trying to find the problem i clicked on public servers and found that i could not find any public servers whatsoever and that the CMD that loads with the game was flooded with "Server failed to respond". Anyone got any idea what could be causing this?

I solved the problem with finding public servers, it seems the rest of the world is using a different version to me, but i still have the issue of being unable to find my local server. I have checked my anti virus and that isnt causing the issue.

Sure your Not running the -nosteam version of the game?

Absolutely, am using a new computer since the last time i used it so its a fresh installation, i even checked the launch options and its definitely on the default.

I tried doing it as a non steam server and i was able to connect, is there any major differences between a non steam and a steam server?
