This new world welcomes many threats, from the dead's insatiable hunger for the living to the murderers and thieves that thrive off lawlessness. The zombie plague hasn't extinguished every soul yet, but the wheels of time favor the dead over the living... always have. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

 

The Gunslingers will fill the role of peacekeepers and diplomats alike. They are quite capable of operating alone, but they are most effective in groups. I cannot list entirely the duties of a gunslinger, for those duties are innumerable, yet there are many human principles a man/woman must have to call themselves "gunslinger." When a starving survivor roams with no direction in the rubble of the new world, a gunslinger will feed and guide him/her. When folk band together to live out this crisis in unity, a gunslinger will aid their cause (so long as it is just). When marauders and bandits commit crimes, a gunslinger will hunt them down to justice. And when the dead gather in hordes beyond count in search of prey, a gunslinger will make them dead one last time.

 

There are several qualities a person must possess to become a gunslinger. First and foremost: humanity. A true gunslinger never resorts to stealing from their own kind to achieve survival, nor kills a fellow human... unless that human has abandoned their own humanity in favor of baser, primal instincts (for these are not humans, but indeed animals). A true gunslinger knows the way of the gun, including its effective use and an awareness of its power. A true gunslinger values life, in all its forms. A true gunslinger must have the mettle to endure tasks that might otherwise kill the faint of heart. And lastly, a true gunslinger must never make the sacrifice of death, for if they perish unnecessarily, many souls are deemed to follow.
