medains
LIst of things that we should need for this: Salt: common household item - should be in big packs that gradually run outYeast: uncommon - could be found in big packs or single-use sachets not required for all bread - can make unleavened or sourdough without it.Wheat: Grow your own - the product is also the seed, and is ultimately perishableSome method of grinding wheat to flour - this will be a bit noisy.Sunflower seeds: Grow for oilSunflower oil: extracted from seeds using a press - bottles of it would be fairly common though, and do not perish.Oil press: rare itemJar: for making a sourdough starter Jar + Flour + Apple + Knife = Sourdough starter (should really leave it for a few days to develop yeast)Bowl + Salt + Yeast + Flour + Water + Butter/Oil = Unproven doughBowl + Salt + Flour + Water = unleavened doughBowl + Salt + Sourdough starter(half) + Flour + Water + Butter/Oil = Unproven sourdoughSourdough starter(half) + Flour = Sourdough starter Unproven dough turns into risen dough someplace warm - not sure how to manage this.Bake unleavened dough into flatbreadBake risen dough into bread Banjo
kinyoshi
I have some of this coming with my Spices mod, I'll do my best to make it more involved and use above.
Banjo
The vanilla game should include some sort of basic baking recipe, IMO. Flour + Yeast + Water + Loaf Pan makes 'Homemade Bread', dangerous if eaten uncooked (bake in an oven to cook, as normal). Wheat should be a new crop that becomes (or can be crafted into) flour once harvested. Flour + Water + Frying Pan could make cookable flatbread/"bannock" for those times when you can't find yeast, and would cook faster too). A more complicated baking system would make a great mod, though! Developing your own yeast, proving dough, threshing wheat, etc.
