  1. It seems like right now there are spots where zombies flow in naturally, spots where zombies will just appear overnight, and spots where zombies don't seem to find you at all - none of it related to the apparent isolation or population. I'm wondering if there aren't inexplicable variations in the migration patterns in the current IWBUMS 33 build.
  2. Someone posted some of the unused sound files for boredom and depression on Reddit not too long ago - and it was a pretty interesting way of adding some consequence to those currently under-used aspects of the game. In the Hydrocraft mod you can use chess sets and stuff to reduce boredom, but it seemed strange to make items like that one-use consumables. It seems to me that it'd make sense to have novel boredom-reducing items produce an area effect (like a fire) that reduces boredom and unhappiness with decreasing returns the longer you have the same item nearby. For instance, a deck of playing cards would have a boredom reducing effect for the immediate room that lasts a pretty long time, but still decays (like food going bad). A Spiffo doll might have less boredom reduction and last less time, but still do something. That would require the player to continually find new items that reduce boredom without having them be inexplicably consumed or provide everlasting entertainment. Anyone agree?
  3. After gathering tons of stuff to just sit on in-game, I felt like small mini-goals would be fun. For example, if you chose a previous job like "librarian," it'd be nice to have some acknowledgement that you'd managed to collect certain books that would make up some preservation of human culture. Maybe specially tagged books that would be parts of a set scattered throughout the map. If you were a "survivalist" you might feel comforted to put together a kit of items like a radio, canning tools, I don't know. Basically just a special class of items that matched the sort of subjective goal that your job in life would make meaningful to you. It's the kind of sort of pointless exercise that would feel good to a person even if their attempt to survive ultimately ended in death.
