  1. This forum is just terrible

  2. That too, or severs brain stem. Insta-death.
  3. Hard to die of heatstroke when it's January. We're in an armor thread, mobility isn't something I was concerned about with my post. But still, our own military is effective when lugging 70+ pounds of gear/armor around Trashcanistan in 110+ degree weather so if our character is physically fit it shouldn't be an excuse to immediately right off the idea.
  4. Trolling is intentional use of fallacies to mislead/fuck with another person. That was me lashing out at a narcissistic prick of a moderator. Regardless, this is bogging down the productivity of good suggestion making.
  5. Oh god here we go again There are sweaters in game too, guess what happens when you wear those with pants and shoes in July? But they are good for winter aren't they?
  6. Mechanical engineers typically fill the "general" category of engineering. Without wanting to over-complicate things I was trying to keep it fairly simple.
  7. Better hope the round glances the bone rather than breaking it, movement penalties out the ass in addition to the almost inevitable death.
  8. Electrician - not sure until more electrical things are implemented into the game Engineer - Advanced building/crafting recipes? Burglar - Lockpicking ability and moves more quietly
  9. Wet suits are what I was referring to. Although of course it wouldn't be too common in small town KY. A more realistic solution for protection would be leather jackets and thick gloves.
  10. My dad has a copy of the original paperback he purchased in the early 80's. It hasn't been banned (at least here in the US) it's just something that might rustle the ATF's feathers if you also have some of the materials laying around and if you really admire Timothy McVeigh.
  11. Since most of that novel wasn't worth replying to (and having more valuable things to do than expanding my experience as a "super 1337 mod on teh interwebs forums") I'll just go ahead and get to the main point. I'm not looking for an arcadey shooter. I'm looking for realism and it is lacking. Working in a sporting goods store doesn't convince me any more that you actually know what you are talking about and the laughable attempts at explaining things I already know in an attempt to look "all knowing" is just as retarded of a concept. All I wanted was for it to be considered as an option since it pretty much is one for any know-how, but clearly good suggestions aren't valued and instead things like using a goddamn aerosol can as a flamethrower are more accepted. I'll stay out of the suggestions part since reading everything in here is cringe-worthy and stick to reporting the thousands of bugs I run across in game to hope I get my moneys worth with future updates. I know you're going to quote every other sentence I have typed separately and make snarky comebacks to each one, but I hope you pay special attention to this one: Go fuck yourself dipshit.
  12. I've seen that a lot of aluminum bats can actually be lighter than wooden bats. So hey it could possibly have more pros than cons.
  13. >How they work You mean threading them on and firing? Total space magic. Sub-sonic .22 is readily available at any decent gun store and is only slightly more expensive than regular .22. I know many "normal" machinists who you could hand blueprints to and would be able to make them. And special machinery? If that's the reason for not adding them then why have the skill in the first place? When using sub-sonic ammunition in bolt actions the actual bolt can be louder when working it than the actual shot. But regardless I know that none of this knowledge will be available to whichever ignoramus we play as in the game (regardless of profession choice) so I guess that devalues my purchase of it and we'll have to continue playing as The Walking Dead-tier morons for forced difficulty.
  14. Seeing some misinformation so I'm going to throw my two cents in: Suppressors (and all NFA items) require a $200 tax stamp. Most quality .22lr suppressors are between $300-$500. They would be rare, but not so much so that it would be a waste to include in the game as .22 is incredibly popular and you would be hard pressed to find many gun owners without a .22. Sub-sonic .22lr is also very popular and should not be written off as virtually non-existent. Some ghetto PVC suppressors can be made by less experienced individuals with obviously less durability and effectiveness. Another suppression method is using an oil can. A company has made a threaded attachment to adapt to an oil can to use as a suppressor and is relatively effective and thus has gained more popularity. If machinery skills are being considered for the game it should be an option to machine suppressors. Most occupational machinists are capable of making good quality suppressors. A subsonic .22 fitted with a suppressor is literally about as quiet as a BB gun decibel wise. This is obviously where realism and "making the game too easy" conflict, which is why you never see anyone in a diver's suit running around with a subsonic .22 on The Walking Dead or any other zombie pop culture. I think they would need some tweaking for game balance, but not to the MGS3 point of suppressors falling apart after 20 shots and not sounding like kitten queefs (especially with larger calibers). Also, regular ball ammo for .45 ACP IS subsonic which is why suppressors are very effective for them.
