  1. Server hard reset, turned down number of zombies slightly but made them tougher. Should be plenty of loot, I hope. Server will be back up in about a minute or so.
  2. got busy, taking down server in 5 minutes
  3. Okay, figure about 3 hours from now, I will take down the server for a reset and settings edit.
  4. When I check my performance through my task manager, about 90% of my memory is being used, only half of which is being dedicated to the server via the .bat file. When I looked through my processes to see what was taking up so much, what stood out was my net manager for the card, which before I started running the pz server it had never used to much memory before. I hadn't really noticed it too much, but recently its been increased.
  5. When I'm running my server my network card uses a lot more memory, on top of whatever I assigned to the .bat file for the server. It never used so much before I started hosting.
  6. Limiting is a good idea, since you also need to take into account your network processes are going to jump to. That's even more memory being used. I mentioned I have my server using 12 gigs, my network process are taking about another 5 or 6 gigs worth of memory(I have other shit going on, but most of that is pz). And if you plan on running the game on the same PC, that's even more memory being used. It will take some tweaking before you find the right balance.
  7. Makes me think of the Red Dwarf episode White Hole "Without the power, the crew are forced back to basics. Lister and the Cat are forced to live off cold baked beans while they try to employ a bicycle powered hairdryer to fry an egg"
  8. Also depending how many slots you plan on opening, there's a good chance you'll need more ram. Keeping it closed for just a few friends and you should be fine but if you go public it will need much more. I've got mine using 12gigs and sometimes that doesn't seem to be enough.
  9. restarting, try now
  10. Java crashed, restarting
  11. Did a quick restart (not a reset). Hope that helps.
  12. Good to hear. And honestly no, I haven't really played since I started running the server. Not sure why just haven't.
  13. That is awesome and what I was hoping to hear. I'm in no rush to reset if it isn't needed, so if you guys don't want it yet that is cool with me. Just glad the extra loot and zeds worked this time, I had extended the shut off for water and power too. Not sure that worked/helped at all though, but it seemed a good idea since then they should hopefully have been working for more than a day in real time.
  14. I've considered it, but I've been on the fence about it. The benefit is bigger map, more loots, etc. On the downside though, updating both game version with the mod could at points end up being a pain. Plus there is a bunch of servers that have added the extra map, and it looks like some have other mods running also, so having a vanilla server seems like a good idea, especially for the stray newcomer. So yea, I don't plan on right now, but maybe at some point... Anyways it's been almost a week since last reset and no one has said a peep about it to me, guessing that means it's not needed yet?
  15. Think I may have found the issue, restarting server real quick.
  16. Server did indeed crash, but it's up now. And I will look into the lag, could have been others on the network here killing my bandwidth...
  17. Server reset and back up, have fun!
  18. Reset coming in one hour. Building, loot and zombies reset but your characters shouldn't be reset, those are saved locally on your computers.
  19. Too many hotfixes, should be the latest one now. As for creating a private whitelist, it's been considered but I see it killing the server population. Plus it adds a lot more work to maintaining the server on my end and honestly I barely have enough free time to do what is required now. Which on that note server reset either later tonight or early tomorrow morning (I would prefer tonight but not sure when I'll be able to)
  20. Back up, sorry about that taking so long. It shouldn't have but there were complications. Server was upgraded though, should produce less heat and thus perform better.
  21. Need to bring down server for a little bit, I apologize in advance.
  22. Naw I didn't save anything just did a fresh install, just seems to be less problematic.
  23. the last hotfix stopped a lot of server crashing, but it required a full reinstall for a lot of us admins, so even if the reset hadn't been needed yesterday the hotfix required it.
  24. Back up, enjoy! Wow, less than a minute an at least ten people on, nice sight to see.
  25. well then, bringing it down now, be back up in a second
