-Don't use sledge hammers/hammers/axes as weapons unless you have no other choice, or you have a spare stored. They are vital in base construction.
 
-When possible have 2 sheet rope exits from your safe-house, and put higher preference on windows where you can see the tile you land on.(Windows facing south east and south west)
 
-Take the time to construct a safe-house near areas where you expect to spend more than a few days. Having one near a looting area can save a lot of time during the looting runs and if you leave some supplies there(non-perishables, some spare weapons), you have a fallback if your main safe-house gets swarmed.

On the topic of the current distinctions between men and women. There already is a small one active within the game. The fact that only women can wear skirts. While personally I would probably attempt to rip a large portion of the legs off of the trousers(if I knew I still would have a pair of trousers) before I would put on a skirt. If such a thing would be impossible for whatever reason, as is the case in the current version of the game, I would sooner wear forsake the trousers and put on a skirt than run around bare chested under the summer sun(which anyone who has had sunburn can tell you is a not a smart idea). After all one of the manliest of societies in our western civilization wear kilts(which is basically a manly version of the skirt) as their traditional clothes. So why wouldn't men be able to wear skirts during a zombie apocalypse, one where eating rotten food and drinking bleach are options?
 
It's a serious question, as the skirt has a temperature advantage over the trousers during the warm months.
