  1. Connect with pz.deadpixel.com, if you just tried to join the server was probably rebooting. Does this every 4 hours.

The idea of a global ban list works pretty well for 7 days to die: http://games.frontrunnertek.com/7-days-to-die/global-ban-list It's community run though, since it's true the downsides SuperJack brought up aren't something an early access developer needs to think about right now. But managed well, it seems effective. +1 for server-side characters
  3. Tried running the clean up commands from the server console and they did not work. In game as admin they work fine. We'd love to script a /extinguish to put out fires before our restarts trigger, any way to fix this?
  4. Server is back up and running on a new SSD, fire-spread is now disabled. Last map lasted 18 days, and was burnt to the ground. Nice job people. No plans for another reset anytime soon.
  5. Server is down for some upgrades, we're moving to a faster machine with a much better SSD and configuration. Could be down for up to 12 hours, while we transfer everything. Sorry for the wait but we'll be back better then before.
  6. You can ask, you can't insist. Post once, respond to any discussion, but don't keep bringing up the same thing over and over please. Fair enough. It wasn't my intention to insist. Just surprising to see this question passed over without acknowledgment. It certainly seemed relevant to the update we are all discussing. I shall remain patient.
  7. I think it's fine that the locked boxes can be broken into, and sledging into someone's base is realistic. Our server has players who thrive by hiding their crates in the forest, and building secret bases. They spend weeks doing this. Our biggest problem in MP is when the map needs to be cleaned up a bit (typically after about 2-3 weeks). Soft-resets reset all the hard work these players have done stocking supplies. It keeps their bases but all food stores, building supplies, etc in crates they have collected are reset. I ask again, will locked crates be skipped over when the soft-reset process is run? We were excited last year to see this implemented: http://projectzomboid.com/blog/2014/03/road-to-unification/ But as of now, it falls short in it's usefulness.
  8. Don't mean to be pushy, but I thought this was a pretty good question. Very excited about this update, and appreciate all the dev work. But with the implementation of locked crates, a crucial component in MP, how will soft-resets work with this?
  9. Will soft-resets skip over player locked crates with this build? Currently they are resetting the loot inside all crafted crates, so we have stopped doing them on our server as it was resetting player hoarding progress.
  10. Yep, we have it save first, and then quit the server gracefully. A countdown happens 5 minutes before, and server messages warn players. There's also a kill screen in the event the server has crashed as a backup, but it's timed long enough to only happen if the quit fails.
  11. Server has been hard reset 2/3. All map data has been wiped.All your characters data is saved client side, and should be fine when you reconnect. We have added 6 hour scripted auto-restarts as well to help with crashes, and other bugs that bring the server down. We're considering doing 2 week, automatic, map resets.   13. Not our fault I can assure you. This tends to happen with 10 or more people on. The ping can rise to insane levels even though our server is supposed to kick at 1200 or more. We have plenty of ram and cpu to spare, but it makes little difference. It's typically just a lag "spike," occurring for 5-10 minutes at it's worst. As of now, we can either restart the server more often, every 3 hours perhaps, or reduce the cap to 10 people max. Alpha struggles my friend, it has been better in past builds, but just part of the struggle for now.

  15. Nicely done, we've been using this to monitor our server. Haven't ever seen our server show player names though, anything special we can do?

  18. An update is the server is still up and we will continue to stay on Build 26 for at least one more week. We will continue with the soft reset's and please feel free to comment here about your opinions as we are looking towards updating to build 27 in the future.   19. We were able to wipe out all the undead that attacked the server room and was able to restore the server and it has been soft reset.
  20. server is back up. unfortunately the AC in the server room is down so its hell in there. I wish i was undead.
  21. We are soft-resetting the server now... it will be back up in 20 minutes. Server is up and soft-reset is complete... good luck looting!

  23. It is back up. The update last night caught me off guard. Tons of people just hopped on too.
