Something worth noting about the Thompson/Grease Gun is that any museum would likely have their working parts (such as the firing pin) held in storage. Wouldn't that be a cool puzzle and reward? To find the gun first and then have to go back and find the appropriate parts to restore it in a heavily guarded room.
Small correction, I meant the VZ scorpion, not the modern CZ Scorpion. It wasn't used by any police forces, but there is a solid number of legal (and illegal) examples of it in the US, it's totally reasonable to think that some could be in kentucky, either seized by police as evidence or in some collector's stash.
I'm... mixed on implementing a wide assortment of weapons that fit the same role (for example having 4 different kinds of 9mm pistol). I like to simulate as much as the next guy, but there's a point where you're getting in the way of gameplay. Now you have to contend with finding the right magazines for all of these pistols that accomplish the same goal and in terms of gameplay, are the same. Finding an illegally modified glock in full auto could be cool too, though. They've always been known for how stupidly easy they are to convert.
I agree. While the Thompson and M3 would be more rare, just like you said in a museum they could be the most likely place you'd find one. And a 10/22 is a no brainer like you said and definitely should be added next. But now imagine it with the suppressor... maybe covert work?
CZ used to be big back in the days now that you reminded me that company even exists, for example the CZ75. And i haven't personally heard of PD's or Military using the scorpion but nor have i done research on that end. I do know the MP5 was overwhelmingly everywhere and its a big surprise its not in the game yet.
As for the Glocks, i do know some glocks were already in early use, like gen 1 and gen 2. And i think it would be cool to have more guns that share the same calibers. Even if there's nothing different like stats so its more of a "take your pick" thing.
Well yeah that's how it works. If you don't land a solid damaging hit, it counts as a "chance-to-hit" and deals no dmg, but knocks the zombie back (and sometimes over). This happens less frequently as you level.
I'm legitimately not sure if it's a bug that it happens EVERY time you miss now though, one would assume that the character should have a solid chance to just not hit any part of the body at low skill.
Idk, aiming needs another pass, and I suspect it will eventually get one, but they're currently working on refining its basic functions for controller and getting more of the arsenal implemented, judging from the last few patches and dev logs.
A 10-22 seems like a no-brainer to me, or a single-shot, 20-gauge shotgun that they use to teach kids how to shoot clays and ducks. Those would fit within the lore quite nicely, while offering something a little different than what we have. Fits big into Kentucky's hunting culture etc.
For full autos and SMGs I'd lean more towards like a VZ-61 scorpion or MP5, something that was very commonly used by police or purchaseable by collectors, even something more vintage like a Grease Gun. Imagine breaking into a museum to score the only working M3 Grease Gun on the map.
A thompson might be cool too, I'm mixed on it. The M3 is notably slow-firing and feels a touch more appropriate for the gameplay. Something ab including a bullet hose like an original or even A1 model thompson seems wrong but I have no substantial reason for why other than "vibes"
A glock 18 does seem a little farfetched relative to these other options though, maybe finding one in one of those mansions w/ the hidden armories in the basement would be cool.
