Do you think there will EVER be NPCs added?

I'm not sure why you've linked a Reddit post that seems completely borked to even look at, I'm not even sure what it is.

Edit: It didn't load on mobile, now I see.

 

But we've blogged on NPCs maybe a year ago and went in depth about them. The first instance of human NPCs is currently planned for Build 43.

Technically the first instance of NPCs is Build 42 with animals.

Hope can be a dangerous thing but in this instance I will certainly take it.

 

PZ is an amazing game, many of us have it in our Top 10 all time, perhaps even higher.

I mean, I used to genuinely be of the opinion that vehicles would NEVER be a thing. All these big promises of like, huge wrecks full of destroyed cars, each with their own little containers full of loot, some of them would be broken, some would work just fine out the gate, the possibility of hotwiring them, actually using physics for them.. It all seemed way too ambitious, and so do the ideas for NPCs.
Vehicles did come out though. And I'd say I hardly ever run into issues with them, and I hardly ever question design choices. Maybe a little at the fact that they're reduced to dust in seconds if you ram a horde real slow, but I can clearly see the years that went into developing vehicles.

NPCs will come out, and they'll probably feel pretty well-polished as well, even if it took like 10 years to get to that point. I respect TIS devs for actually taking their time releasing new things, I don't think I've ever seen a new feature feeling underbaked.

 

I think TIS could've released some random NPC update that just adds random hostile survivors years ago if they just wanted to cash in on the hype.
