extremely common error while hosting mutliplayer server

While trying to host a server for me an a friend, the game will take a long time loading but at the end the message "couldn't establish p2p connection" will appear and the progress will stop.

i would belive this means i just can't host a server on my own, but in a couple of ocassions the game did load a server and my friend was even able to connect and we played together just fine, however if i close the server or the game, the next time i try to open it will display the same message, the only kinda reliable way i have to open a server is to manually delete the server config info by following really old online tutorials 

i understand this is an indie game and apologize for my terrible grammar (im not a native english speaker)
