  1. Our Journey We are a small team of 2 developers based in Switzerland. We embarked on this adventure 4 years ago. Our project is called “Infinite Dust” and is a Procedural Space Sandbox (yes, another one!). Project History The project was initiated by 2 gaming-enthusiasts in July 2014. It’s important to know that at the time we started creating it, this style of game didn’t really exist yet; “No Man’s Sky” and others had hardly emerged. Nevertheless, we didn’t walk away from our universe and continued developing it. Game description Infinite Dust is a RPG/FPS (action, aventure, construction), game that takes place in our galaxy, which is colonized by men in a distant future. As a player, you are an explorer of “The Fleet”, a wandering faction in space on the haunt of new habitable planets where you will be able to establish outposts or new colonies. Your main goal is to survive by exploring your environment and exploiting the mineral resources of planets, asteroids and moons – or exploring ruins of forgotten civilizations, shipwrecks and other vestiges from previous wars. As an explorer you will have to be ingenious in the designing and construction of structures that will be able to protect you from wildlife and climate. You will also have to manage the building of vehicles in order to move on land and in the air, which will then end up in becoming even larger vessels to help you explore the interstellar space and its dangers by travelling over longer distances. All these features are possible thanks to a current catalogue of 250 items, including building blocks, modules, mechanisms, consumables etc. Scenario At the moment, there is no such thing as a scenario for the game yet. We would rather describe it as a background in which the universe of Infinite Dust was embedded. The player is free to choose whether he wants to privilege the exploration or the mining of minerals for the construction; in the end, the aim stays the same: to survive and expand your territory. However, if the project reaches a sufficiently advanced stage of development, we will set up a narrative plot in the form of quests, which will lead the player onto several planets. All this in parallel to the progress of the player, in order to unlock some unique items in the game. Demo: gamejolt Video: youtube Facebook: facebook InfiniteDust Twitter: twitter Infinite Dust
  2. I'm an indie dev working on "Mammoth Gravity Battles", a 3D turn based strategy/artillery game for multiple platforms, similar to the classic gravity wars/death star battles. Its going to have four player pass-n-play battles, a story/campaign mode, multiple weapons and destructible planets. I'm very excited about the progress of the game, its coming on nicely. 4. Hi everyone, I want to introduce you my first serious project, which is also my first serious video game, and my first game made with the framework LibGDX ! But whatever... ladies & gentlemen here's Shine ! General InformationsName : ShinePlateforms : Android & iOSShort description : Shine is a free puzzle game based on light and colors which is going to triturate your meninges ! A one-of-a-kind puzzle game that will take you for an unforgettable travel in space !Progress : AlphaEstimated Time of Arrival : Q1 2015But before going further, let me introduce myself. About me Who are you ? My name is Mickael and I'm 23 years old. I passed my Higher National Diploma last year, and I just passed my last exam this year, in June. I discovered programming in August of 2011, just before starting my HND. Why a video game ? Everything has started when I discovered libGDX. I played a bit with the framework itself, with Box2D, then with OpenGL, shaders etc. Gradually I started using tools related to video games, althought I was not attracted by this kind of programming at first. Eventually, all this gave me the will to make a video game for mobile phones, a domain I was familiar with cause I had already published 2 Android applications at this time. Game's core concepts In parallel with my studies, I thus tried to find an idea for a video game with an innovative concept. Because I wanted to be able to finish it, I wanted something that I could do without much difficulties with my current knowledge. So forget about 3D So the idea was born of a 2D puzzle game containing 2 basic element types :Emitters : Elements that send light (represented by a ray going in one of the 4 directions)Receivers : Elements that need light for the level to be completedEach one of these elements has its own color. It means that a red emitter will send a red ray. Similarly, a blue receiver will need to receive a blue ray for the level to be completed. Each level is displayed as a grid, with several elements dispatched on it. You can move emitters, but you can't turn them. Receivers can't be moved nor turned. All the elements needed to resolve the level are on the grid. You can't add any element by yourself. But because images are way better than words, here's a nice infographic made by our awesome graphic designer that sums everything up The game will contain 10 worlds, each one of them containing 30 levels with a growing difficulty. This means that, at the end, there'll be 300 levels, which is not bad Throughout your progression in the game, new game concepts and new elements will be introduced to help you cope against the growing difficulty, so that you won't get bored The universe Given the fact that the game is partially based on the operation of some "natural" phenomena (light propagation, color mixing...), I wanted graphic and sound environnements that would enhance these elements. As you would have probably guessed, I thought about something in space, like an interstellar travel. Each of the 10 worlds would then be a planet. These planets could be made only of the natural elements that are familiar to us (crystals, volcanoes...) or mixed with some fictitious elements. Something very sci-fi actually So here's what the 1st world will probably look like (no elements) ! Where it gets interesting for the player is that it means different graphics, sounds and musics for each world, in addition to the new elements. Thus an almost completely new experience each time ! I'm not looking to tell a story through this travel. The only goal being to offer a unique and rousing experience. Like if it could be a way to espace from the daily life, which is sometimes a bit monotonous. The team We are currently 3 to work on the game on our free time :Flawyte : DeveloperChak : Graphic DesignerBenjamin : Sound DesignerProgress You can like us on Facebook if you want to be regularly informed about the progress. The mechanics part is now done, and a few people occasionally play the game to spot bugs and give us feedback. I "only" have to reproduce what the graphics designer has drawed (elements, environnements...) in the game once we're almost sure it won't changed further. We haven't planned to take addional testers for the moment, but if you're interested in being part of the adventure feel free to get in touch Apart from all the progress of the game itself, we will definitely need translators once closer to the release date. So if you speak a foreign language (other than french), feel free to send me a message ! Every person that will have been involved in the game's making will be thanked in the game's credits Let me know if you have remarks, suggestions, questions or whatever else ! 8. Hi, so i wake up in the morning you see is zombie apocalypse so you grab everything what you can carry from home and run away. ok how come you can run away with full fridge, 5 sheets, baseball bat, golfclub when you carry only plastic bag? i tried - its impossible. you have two pocket in your jeans (you can put bottle in back one but walking is harder ) , maybe one in hoodie, you have backpack (everyone does)where you can pack yourself for two days and that`s it. My point is that carrying by points its bit unrealistic. I know there are two types of solutions in game - weight or space, but both of them are not real. you should have two pockets where you can put 10 shells (not hundred 160 or 140) some spare space in hoodie, under the belt for food, baseball to hand, knife somewhere and the run away. That will make game much harder (i know many people will hate me for this post) but challenge is good .at least option to setup pockets and separate items so i can put to schoolbag sledgehammer would be really nice. Just simply separate items for let say 4 categories and either you grab it either you leave it if you don`t have big enough backpack.
