Thank you, changing my laptop's resolution before booting up the game seems to do the trick

But it used to work, and it still works 10% of the time when changing the resolution in game.. so I should change the resolution of my laptop every time before booting up the game and then again after closing it?

If I edit the options.ini file and set the full 1920:1080 Res it launches again no problem.. so the issue is with the resolution

That does launch the game in fullscreen, but also full resolution. Full resolution is too much for my laptop. As soon as I change the resolution, the same issue occurs. The screen goes on the desktop while the game is running in background... So I guess the issue is the resolution.. but I used to play on lower res just fine before.. I mainly used 1280:720. Any resolution i set other than the full 2K causes the same issue. Any ideas? Like I said, after restarting the game/laptop many times, eventually it does work in lower resolution.. But I can't keep restarting for an hour (literally) every time I want to play

That works, but now also fullscreen works the issue seems to be that I can't change the resolution.. it's on 1920x1080 and if I change it to anything else the screen goes onto the desktop and I cannot access the game like explained before.. I wait for it to revert (as I cannot click yes to confirm) then I can change screens onto the game again but the resolution is set to max... I used to always set it to 1280x720, which would make it playable on my pc.. any ideas?

Also I was running on a lower resolution so my PC wouldn't fry, but in windowed mode if I set the resolution lower I have to play with a tiny window instead of the resolution adjusting in fullscreen.. any ideas on how to fix my fullscreen?

Thank you, that does launch it in windowed mode and it works, but if I then change it to full screen it exits the game screen again and the same happens.. I can change the options file again and launch it in windowed but what can I do to play in fullscreen again?

Hello, I have a problem with the launching of the game. Lately every time I launch it (doesn't matter how, from steam, from the shortcut or .exe file, as administrator or not) the game launches (the taskbar simbol appears and I can hear the music, but the screen stays on the desktop (or steam).. if I click on the taskbar icon it opens for a split second (showing the menu, so the game launched), then closes again and goes onto the desktop.. I can hear the game running in the background but cannot open the window to actually play. I've tried reinstalling the game, checking the installation files.. and every other option I found online. Usually after closing the game and restarting my PC about 20-30 times it finally launches properly.. I have around 600h on the game and this only started happening recently (a week or two). Please advise on how to fix this. thanks !
