Steam and Discord are almost always open but I rarely use the overlays, I've got 3 monitors but I'm currently down to 2 at the moment. (It's really strange to have to say I need to fumigate my drawing tablet because ants started to try nesting in there. still works just not using it right now.)

Hmmm, yea I changed that and now the game screen is flickering at the tops and bottom of the window whenever I tab out. Doesnt black screen it and force me to close though so that's an improvement.

I had done that once before last month, as you had told StarTank24 to do in the previous post from last year that I linked above and didn't observe any changes over several new saves before. I deleted the mods folder again and verified again as well. on brand new saves cooking was functional. I tested 2 brand new saves and opening cans worked on those. I tested a save from last month after I initially deleted the mods folder and verified, after the first two tests and in that save opening cans didn't work. I'm not sure what is causing the issue since according to StarTank24, they had no mods whatsoever, and I didn't get identical results from last month when I did the same thing. I do not think it is a mod problem. I also did not see any error messages display at all whenever this error happened, mods or no mods. I included the logs folder again as well for comparison against the last one if that helps at all. logs.zip

I have had an issue similar to this the past 2-3 days, except a bit more buggy. If I click on anything (or alt+tab) outside zomboid to my other screens I can no longer tab back into zomboid and the screen goes black. I have to force close the game to get it to work again. It didn't used to black out the screen and lock me out like that until I decide I wanna recreate a blueprint I made IRL ingame and kinda have to tab in and out.

Both, noticed it on a newer save but it goes across saves • Reproduction steps: Really cant say much here, I don't know what caused it. I noticed it after trying to make a stir fry but couldn't find the cans I opened. after some more experimenting I found that opening cans worked but they disappear once everything is done. adding food to the griddle and frying pan is the same, when the action is done it disappears from the inventory. large cooking pots seem to be an exception, I can still make soups with them and add ingredients as normal. I haven't tested these but I think sauce pans also work and I'm pretty sure roasting pans are bugged too. processing food in most other ways seems to work, like slicing bread and making a sandwich. note: there was another post about this same problem from about a year ago that had no resolution I posted there about the problem as well when I first experienced it last month, but it has persisted and I've kinda learned to live with it since nobody was responding to it, but this bug is really annoying. P.S. if it helps the issue started around 2/3/23 logs.zip

I'm currently having this bug myself, happening in both SP and MP. canned food disappears entirely when opened. cooking anything via the craft menu also disappears. or when RMC to make a bowl of soup or add an ingredient. game never crashed or gave any sort of error for the disappearance. bug is across all saves but the one i noticed it on is about ~3 days old and 21 days ingame. it randomly started working as i was removing mods to figure out what the problem was but stopped working again even with no mods at all. i did what you told startank24 to do and it was missing 25 files and downloaded them again but it didnt seem to make any difference. edit: i can make stews and soups with the cooking pot and pastas with the saucepan as long as i dont have to open any canned food for it, i can cut meats and slice things no problem but adding ingredients to the roasting pan, frying pan, and griddle, results in the food and the pan disappearing. the actual cooking (heating of the food) is unaffected. its just something with processing the food in certain cookware or opening cans.
