I'm just hosting a small server for my friend and I to play together on. Everything was great, until my internet reset and a new IP was generated by my ISP. Though I haven't deleted any actual server data, the changing of my IP requires us both to make brand new characters... which really defeats the point of us playing together to be honest. I'm not looking for advice on how to screw with internet settings that have served me well for years, I just want to know if there's a way to prevent this from wiping our character data when it happens? Any help would be appreciated.
