  1. Sorry if someone has already made a topic/suggestion of this already. Anyways, I have always enjoyed toying with fires in Project Zomboid, ranging from burning small houses with ovens to burning down forests. But I have been thinking of making fires more useful and possibly more dangerous (or more survivable). Here are a few of my ideas: -Fire Places: These can not be made by players, but be placed in certain homes. These can be lit by players (and possibly NPCs) to provide warmth from cold weather. The fire place would also dry you from wet weather, although the player has to maintain these with planks and wood. Also placing too much wood could cause the fire to erupt and burn down the neighborhood. Which brings us to my next idea. -Buckets/Towels: I have managed to die multiple times from fire killing my player as I helplessly watch him get burned to death by invisible flames. >_> So I have thought of making buckets and wet towels able to douse your character (bottles of water could also be an option). Wet towels would be recycled from the rain drying yourself from the rain. Although dousing yourself with a bucket may cause your character to get sick. -Matches/Candles: This idea is that you may light a match/candle and move around with it slowly, providing small amounts of light along the way. Although running with it may cause you to drop it and catch fire to you and your surroundings. -Curious/Scared of Fire: Yet another idea I have is that zombies may be attracted to fire and walk slowly toward it, possibly simply looking at it for a moment then walking away or them walking into it and running away. While NPCs (depending on their traits and/or jobs) may be trying to put the fire out or sprinting away in fear. Which again brings us to yet another trait. -Fire Traits/Jobs: Let me say, this idea is not meant to make you or any NPCs invincible to fire or anything of the such as it would ruin the realism. Simply depending on the character's (or NPC's) job or traits, they will react to fire differently. Some traits making them stand and look at it motionless in some sort of shock or fear, or they will rather run away (This will probably just be for NPCs and their traits). While some characters/NPCs may attempt to put out the fire with a bucket/bottle of water. Some may succeed while some may simply start catching fire. -Dehydration: This is not much. Simply being that when you or an NPC is near fire or source of heat (such as an oven, microwave, barbecue, etc,...) for an extended amount of time, they will begin to experience dehydration depending on the severity of the blaze (such as an oven being minor thirst to a forest fire being high dehydration). -Burnt Clothes/Skin: The idea of being set on fire brings me to what the after effects could be. Ranging from burnt and ragged clothing needing a new pair, to burned skin in the 3rd degree requiring bandaging. Those are my ideas for now. Thank you for taking the time to read them (or atleast some of them). Feel free to modify/change any of these ideas to make them better (or worse) or if you have any suggests to make me get rid of them. -1999hundred
