Hello everyone,
Topic is rather selfexplaining, i think it only makes sense to give the player the ability to create a makeshift long blunt weapon out of wood.
I think it would be even more awesome and fitting to make the durability or even damage depending on the carpentry level the character has.
As of other requirements, I think it would be fitting to craft the selfmade baseball bats out of Logs. Requiring a Saw and a Knife to cut them down and shape them.
From a game balance perspective. Axe builds can craft perfectly good stone axes which are still able to one/twoshot zombies with high skill while actually weighting less and therefore costing less stamina to use. The knife builds have it similar. I've heard of people killing numerous hordes of zombies just with a bag of crafted stone knifes.
The long blunt build in the meanwhile is sitting there using either a 3.0 or 3.1 weight plank or spiked plank spending way more energy and doing a literal fraction of the damage they could pull out before. At the same time he is sitting the with his Carpentry Level 10 and a forest full of perfectly good logs waiting to be turned into wooden clubs or baseball bats.

he questions himself, what on earth is he supposed to do?
But soon he realizes while looking at his chipped stone stacks
Right! All he has to do is craft a homemade axe

With great despair he crashes down on his bank
Because all he has now is a spiked or bare plank
He looks at the sky and pleads to the Devs
Meanwhile the knife man is chat spamming Fs
The long blunt man kneels down and takes off his hat
"Please let me craft my own baseball bat"
