features from march 4 update are not in game

i was really excited to use the new 'saliva only' transmission method since i've been wanting it for a while, but when i loaded the game and went to start a new save the option wasn't there. i checked if the clock was different since that changed too and it wasn't. am i doing something wrong in terms of updates? i tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn't fix the problem

The updates aren't being pushed until MP gets in. They'll be a part of that update, you're not missing anything.
