No if you've already tried it then that's fine.
This appears to be the same thing as an issue we've been tracking, at the moment we have no reliable way to reproduce it but it is something the devs are looking in to and the more reports we get like this the easier it will be, I will pass this one on to them.
Until then the best advice I can give is to disable any overlays (NVIDIA, Steam, Rivatuner, MSI Afterburner, etc) and use more ram like you are doing. Or go back to the Stable branch as that doesn't seem to have the same problem.
The issue is that in B41 it was chance reliant, i don't know what kind of game element that is whether RPG or what, but it was basically just "wait until your success rate is high enough" and only shotguns were effective really to hit anything. Probably why the mod Advanced Trajectory gained so much traction and its what i played with before even knowing the vanilla aiming system. Where as B42 is more of a too accurate point and click although more reliable and fun because you are more in control. But, if i wanted a point and click game I'd get one as such. And this is the frustration me and many others seem to have and its that there is no challenge to it besides genuinely having bad aim. Like, don't even attempt playing shooter games kind of bad aim.
Version: 42.19
Mode: Singleplayer (Splitscreen)
Server settings: N/A
Mods: None
Save: New Save
Reproduction steps:
Start a new splitscreen game with two players.
Use a controller for Player 2.
Open the map as Player 2.
Close the map.
Player 2 can no longer use most controller functions.
Result:
After opening the map, Player 2 loses access to almost all controller inputs. Movement and attacks still work, but inventory cannot be opened, items cannot be used, and the pause menu cannot be accessed. The issue persists until the game is restarted or the save is reloaded.
Expected result:
Player 2 should retain full controller functionality after opening and closing the map.
