Kvshman Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) I was told on Discord that heating water via fire takes longer now. But I have 8 hour days in my settings and have left a saucepan (600 mL) and a bucket (10 L) in 2 different campfires and they heat at the same rate but never heat enough (or cool too fast) to disinfect bandages. I left them both at 2 and 4 in-game hours each and they don't get hot enough. Is this intended? Edited March 26 by Kvshman grammar
Hugo Qwerty Posted March 26 Posted March 26 There's an issue with trying to disinfect with right click (as it takes the water off the heat to do the recipe, but it takes so long the water goes cold before it completes). Using the crafting menu works (well, it did last time I tried), as that doesn't take the water off the heat.
Zambroni Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Also, note that some containers are bugged (missing the "cookable" tag) and won't boil water even in a regular oven. The saucepan specifically was bugged in 42.0, then got fixed (in 42.3, maybe?), then bugged again in 42.4, and then (I think) fixed again.
damiendada Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) Make sure you have enough fuel to maintain a good heat. Fires can also vary in heat depending on their size or environment. snaptube vidmate Edited April 9 by damiendada

I assume stovetop is bugged for use still regardless container function improvements ?
