Farming in 42.0.2

I've tried to grow crops twice. I chose suitable crops for the current season, watered and fertilized them, but eventually they all died. I think farming is currently broken and needs to be fixed. I've seen similar problems with other players on Reddit and in bug reports.

Some people still manage to grow plants and harvest them. However, they say you won't get any exp from harvesting your own crop because in the code you are not listed as the owner of plants or smth like that.

Anyway, I'd still like to grow some crops. What's the secret on how to do it? Could you share how you managed to keep your plants alive, those who harvested their own crops?

Yeah, farming is broken.  If you use the Change Sandbox Options mod and disable the seasons plants will grow (you may need to plant new seeds).  You still won't get any xp though, and you can plant seeds at any time of the year - but you can self-impose the season requirement, so thats not a big deal.

I see, thank you for the answer! I'm playing on default apocalypse, so I won't be able to grow any crops sadly

The mod I mentioned should still work - as you still have sandbox settings, they're just the default ones for Apocalypse.  Not 100% sure, as I only play sandbox, so have never seen what that mod does in any other mode.
