[42.0.2] [rev.25282] Very weird incident involving Knapping I skillbook

Really not sure how to explain this, and definitely unsure how to replicate it.

 

For context, I'm playing in Sandbox with max loot settings and a 6-hour day.

 

I got ready for bed by dropping my Alice vest and backpack on the floor, did my excercises and then slept. Woke up wth a panic attack (a rare occurrence) and decided to go back downstairs to read the rest of my Knapping I skillbook. I've found full sets of almost all other books  (except Long Blade) and Knapping I is the only knapping book I've found.

 

I finished the book and as I already had one point in Knapping I decided to see how much XP I could get from working with the 4 flint pieces I'd foraged earlier. After knapping 3 of the pieces I skilled up, so I placed the sharp flint pieces back on my crafting table, put away the Knapping I skillbook, and as it was now early morning and I wasn't sleepy, I decided to drive to a factory in my truck to pick up some more metal parts. I equipped my backpack and vest and set off. It was about 6am.

 

I'd only gotten a few yards down the road when my game froze. I waited to see if it would recover but it didn't, so when Windows prompted me to end the process I did so.

 

Now comes the weird bit. I log back into the game to find myself standing at the door of my truck, where I'd parked it earlier, as if I was just starting my trip, with my backpack and vest equipped - however, the time was 2.30am. I wondered how much of the night's progress I'd lost (since my panic attack) and checked my skills: Knapping was at 2 points, so I'd definitely read the book and worked on the flint - however, I can't find the Knapping I skillbook, and the flints I'd worked on were untouched, as if I hadn't levelled up. I check everywhere for the book but can't find it. What I do find however is a duplicate of my backpack and vest still lying on the floor where I'd dropped them the night before, with contents also duplicated.

 

So, I lost the book and the work I'd done on the flints, but I gained a duplicate pack and vest... except when I pick them up, they disappear!

Yeah, this is just what happens when it crashes.

Its like your character has travelled back in time, with everything they had on them (items & skills) back to the world as it existed a few hours previous.  If your character had the book on them at 2:30am, but didn't have it at the time of the crash, then the book would be gone - had it been on the floor at 2:30 and on the character at the time of the crash there would probably be two books.
