daorkboypl
So..... me and my friend (Josef733 on the forums) have run into a pretty annoying issue. I tried to hold up a server for both of us. I did like it said on the Multiplayer post by nasko: 1) Run the .bat file 2) Put my ip 3) have fun. And I was really pleased it was supposed to be so simple, but I get "connection failed". We tried having our hamachi network on, but no luck . I tried multiple IPs: 87.xx.xx.xx, 127.0.0.1, my hamachi IPv4 (25.xxx.xx.xx) and localhost. The localhost worked for me, but obliously not for Josef733... We are both running build 25b, so we should be working, but no luck... ((( Please help us . Help would be appreciated I added my console log, if that helps anything http://pastebin.com/sxJXRwZp Edited April 12, 2014 by daorkboypl

Help would be appreciated I added my console log, if that helps anything http://pastebin.com/sxJXRwZp Use localhost for yourself and not 127.0etc due to some bugs that present themselves with the 127 setup. As for your friend he will need the external IP for him to connect (if he is not on the same computer as yourself.) using a site like this: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ If they are not on the same network as yourself you will need to do some portforwarding, in order for him to be able to connect to the server. Some info about port forwarding here: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/6016-multiplayer-faq/#connect Not that much info mind, but it does say a little about port forwarding. You should've put this in the support sub-forum. We all make mistakes, doesn't mean we can't help. daorkboypl

Thanks Connal, when my friend gets online, I will try this method and hopefully it will be fixed. I will be back with you on this after my attempt. Other things like, firewalls or anti-virus software can block connections.

I tried and it says its not open....(facepalm), but how do I open it? EDIT: Tried http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and I wasn't seen on both 80 (my default port) and from 16261 to 16269

If it's still not open, then you haven't forwarded the ports correctly. Sorry.
